Thats fuckin crazy. Just shows you how fucked up the world is. A gang beating down a single woman and the cops who she is suposedly working with are no where to be seen. The police dont care about her, they just wanted the info she had, then they threw her to the dogs by not protecting her.

You think a gun would solve anything? Your problem is that you're assuming the best possible circumstances. It's likely that more people would end up injured or dead if a gun was involved.
I don't understand how people think that increasing the number of guns can improve our safety. Are there any reputable statistics to back this up? And if guns do make things safer, shouldn't we in America be the safesty country on earth instead of a country that has the highest murder rate in the developed world? States with higher gun ownership rates have higher murder rates, even when normalized to race and income.

Guns kill about 30,000 americans a year, almost as many as car accidents, and considering how much we use cars compared to how much we use guns, this is crazy. If this many Americans were killed by any other consumer product we'd be shocked... but for some reason we just accept 30,000 people killed per year as a fact of life.

brianx ... if you were in that woman's shoes you would be begging for a gun to stave off those animals. Consumer products of many descriptions kill more than 30,000 per year in the US. Pharmaceuticals, preservatives, alcohol, Wonder Bread, Kraft dinner. The US does have the highest murder rate in the developed world and yet that doesn't seem enough so they blast children and families in other countries apart to go after one bad guy. Why buy a gun when you can buy a thousand cluster bombs? This isn't aimed at you Brian. If I was God (or whoever) for a day then I would eliminate every single weapon from the face of the earth. But if you were in a position where someone was about to kill someone you loved (or yourself) would you still believe that a weapon is not the answer?

you know what brianx.,, i also like to add , imho, even if guns never existed in this world, the death rate will probably still be the same, except poeple will be dieing by knives, swords, pushed down a stairway..etc.. theres plenty of ways to kill a human without a gun...basically i think poeple forget that its the wielder of the gun that kills, not the gun...and 30k poeple being killed a year by guns..should be restated as '30k poeple being killed by other poeple'...
