-Dr Francis Collins seems to think so. He conveniently cites the human genome project but fails to mention that its director (Dr. Collins, who`s scientific credentials far outweigh this guy`s) believes that God is the creator of life.

And I constantly hear from atheists that Christians push their beliefs on others too much but if that that`s the case, then that`s exactly what these videos are doing. Except Atheists don`t have a problem b/c it promotes their beliefs.

And scientists like Ken Miller and Collins can believe what they like. But they probably couldn`t put forth a convincing answer to these questions either.
ANd I`m a huge fan of Ken Miller.

Atheists/scientists are "pushing their beliefs on others" in exactly the same way that a woman, fighting off a rapist, is "pushing her beliefs" on her attacker.

Religious totalitarians have been raping the world literally and figuratively for centuries, killing and silencing any who even suggested an alternative to their absolute rule.

If atheists seem a little pugnacious at times, it is only because religion habitually steamrolls over anything and everything that doesn`t fight back, tooth and nail.

This video is trying to push a belief through some simple reasoning. "there is no god because people have genetic defects".

Well, this reasoning works only if we assume that god should have made everything "perfect".

Watch again and see if you can come up with an answer he doesn`t demolish with simple logic.

This argument doesn`t disprove God, it just argues against any decent loving God. From this video you could draw two conclusions I think: 1.) God probably doesn`t exist, or 2.) God is a total asshole.

- No, not really. The author wasn`t promoting science, he was attacking religion and there`s nothing that particularly aligns atheism with science, which is a misconception held by so many atheists. The questions he asked weren`t scientific ones as much as they were philosophical/theological ones.

Klavlav, there was hardly any truth in what you said. This "raping" you accuse Christians of can be attributed to Atheists as well. Look at SH. Haven`t seen many Christians trying to "rape" everyone on here but I`ve seen about a dozen videos promoting atheism in the last week alone.

The maker of this video sees suffering as defeat and that there is no good in suffering and seems to make the claim that suffering automatically = punishment. SO if you view suffering that way then of course you`re going to find it conflicting with God.

^^All of you have forgotten about CYCLE CELL ANEMIA. Which I believe is the major premise for his conclusion that EVOLUTION is *GASP* REAL and intelligent design is bunk. He provides evidence that CANNOT BE IGNORED.

If one does not believe in evolution then how do they explain these defects? How do the religious explain cycle cell anemia as a recent arrival in human evolution?

It really doesn’t matter if one believes in god or not as long as you acknowledge that evolution is a fact. Science and scientist are not trying to push their atheist agendas on anybody they are simply seeking new knowledge but in the course of passing down that knowledge they are halted by those who believe in creation. Potholder54 in this video is expressing the frustration he faces with combating the ideas of those who choose to be stubbornly ill informed.

I don`t know why there are genetic defects, but I allso can come up with many many ASSUMPTIONS to explain it away and at the same time have a loving god.

Well, thats the whole point of this video. He`s cleverly presenting he argument so that, these are the only possibilitys.

Anyway, I still think he`s main point is that living things should be totally perfect, if god exited.

-No, he is stating that God "could" make things perfect if he wanted to, if he existed. Since things are not perfect, we have to ask why.

Does it make more sense that a Gog wants all these genetic defects, affecting babies, animals, and being indiscriminate to religion. Or does it make more sense that these problems are explained by evolution?

That is the point. The logical arguments against God being the cause is just to emphasize what a stupid answer it is :)

The one thing I always say to Jehovahs Witnesses and pushy Mormons and your "average christian" is PROVE IT. While there are plenty of information proving that all holy books are crap, theres not one argument for why they are real. I always tell them prove to me in any way you possibly can that the bible is real and I swear to GOD that I`ll read his book every single day and devote my life to serving him. Pretty safe bet imo.
