I had this happen to me once I stayed at a convent during my travels through the cold northern reaches of Europe 5 years ago. It was snowing so hard I was forced to stay the night inside the convent out of fear of freezing to death. One of the nuns told me to lock myself inside the room and not to open the door, no matter what I heard.
She later brought me food, which I suspect must have been laced with narcotics, as I fell asleep instantly and woke up the other day. My ass was hurting badly, and my back was covered in lacerations. My arms were covered in what can only be considered dog bites up into my shoulders, and one of my legs had been replaced by a wooden stick.
