Japanese Deodorant - Commercial

When I first came to Japan, I was extremely surprised that men didn't have a custom of using deodorant. All I saw on TV or in posters were deodorant for women. The pharmacy's were filled with deodorant packaged and marketed for women only and were in the womens section. These days in Japan however, some cosmetics companies have started to make deodorant targeted at men but only a few meaning that smelly train carriages will be around for a bit longer.

i`m not sure but i think few ppl in countries outside the US really care about deodorant. in the asian countries i visited, haven`t seen them them in convenience or department stores. i don`t think they`re that important either, or maybe i just stink

This is going on the list of fucked up shit in Japan.

#1 their perversion for little school girls
#2 lack of hygiene

Deodorant has nothing to do with hygiene. Asians generally sweat less and therefore don`t really need deodorant unless they wanna smell extra nice.

^i`ve been all over asia, and sorry to say, but you might just be used to it. There definately is a funk in a lot of places. But no different than the nasty urine/funk in most trains in big cities in north america

the places i`ve been to have tropical weather most of the year, sooooo, does deodorant and antiperspirant stop that kind of humidity and heat? if you didn`t let yourself sweat your eyes would fall out and your penis would turn outside in and then your face would turn into michael jackson. i would know. j/k, i wouldn`t, i never tried deodorant before. in 6th grade sex ed they handed out old spice to everyone and i was like wtf is this and threw it out. in your face you fake basketball playing will farrel

Isn`t Ag the elemental symbol for Silver? Or is it gold? Either way what does that have to do with deoderant?

^ silver fibers and such are used in a lot of "scent blocker" fabrics. Maybe that has something to do with it. I know they use a lot of alluminum in deoderants

I live in Korea and deodorant spray is not really available. I found one once and it was $13 and so light it seemed almost empty.

Asian people do not sweat as much as westerners. Also their diet is not as meat centered and that means that when they do sweat it is not as smelly.
I don`t know about China but in Japan and Korea they wash and stay clean as much if not more than in the USA.
