absolutely great upload! I have realized this truth since i was young, it´s time that we all start accepting the truth, the individual ego is the only real enemy in this world, it will forever blind us and be exploited from keeping us from realizing the obvious truth

consciousness does not create reality nor does it create the material world.
if such scientific facts exist then prove me wrong.

^^ nor can your argument be proven so simply, no one is certain what created and continues to create reality but we`ve noticed a lot of repeatable science lately that points very clearly to: observing consciousness affects reality.

the idea is that one can bring hatred or peace with the unlimited power of the mind and that inner state will affect the people and world around you. fix yourself and you help to fix the rest of the world just through working properly.

"consciousness does not create reality nor does it create the material world.

You don`t make a claim and then ask for someone to prove you wrong. You make a claim and then provide evidence to prove yourself right. The burden is upon YOU to back up your own claim.

Since you cannot, you really are not entitled to denounce any other argument.

This post is BULLSHIT. Typical "spiritual" claptrap, trying to claim the scientific approach as an extension of its own worldview. Buddhism has NOTHING to do with quantum physics. Quantum effects DO NOT extend beyond the subatomic. Buddhists are always trying to pull this crap. Buddhism comes from Hinduism. It is built on a foundation of REINCARNATION. The meditation, self-examination and withdrawal from the material have the one goal of getting you reborn as a higher life form. That`s what Buddhism IS. It is no different from any other bullshit religion.

Everyone, get out your bullshit detectors. By 5:29 I could already tell, using critical thinking, this was full of it.

Firstly, questions without a definitive answer aka Rhetorical questions. They make it seem as if the answer is self-evident by placing the answer of the question in your hands.

Secondly, the "Experiments" that are repeated "thousands of times" is so ambiguous it pains me to listen to it. What experiments? What were the grounds for these experiments? Who did the experiments? What outcomes were there? What scientific articles or journals hosted this information? Where is the shock and surprise of a physics community?

HELL, -when- was this? *continues watching*

WHOA, whoa, whoaaaaa! The -consciousness- was defining the particles? EPIC FAIL, do these idiots even have any idea how these particles are observed in the first place? The problem with viewing particles like that is that the very instruments used to observe them are changing their behavior:

THEREFORE the observations are changing/affecting the behavior. Let`s pretend we have a human that can only see by screaming to create echo-location to observe deer. Instead of merely observing deer, his shouts only frighten away the beasts. Would his observation that "Deer are animals in a constant state of panic and motion" be entirely correct?

No, his method of observation merely interferes with the subject he`s trying to study. And this scientifically doesn`t work. I`m not even going to finish watch this bullshit.

There is only one true religion and that is Pastafarianism.

Yeah, the guy does try to stretch it too much, but than again...it could be his water-down message isn`t clear or makes it worst.

Buddhist at it`s core is about becoming your own philospher. A philospher seeks the path to happiness and self-improvement thru not harming yourself or others.

Not some crazy hedonic people who believe improving their happiness at the cost of others. "the screw you principle" never works in the long run, because it encourgages others to apply the same principle on you or your family.

For reincarnation, the bit about trying to become higher life-form is more of your average Joe explanation. The more logical explanation is you are not punished or awarded by some higher being for your deeds. Rather it is your own thoughts and actions that will led you to where-ever your next life is. If you spend most of your human life not practicing independent thought, always thinking and doing things to satisfy your body urges and needs (food, shelter, sex, golf, cars, porn, drugs, etc)...than your thinking process and an actions is no more different than a dog, cat, or pig always seeking to satisfy it carnal needs. A mouse when given a choice between morphine or food will always choose waste away and die on morphine than take a bit of food.

Just like an alcoholic keeps thinking more alcohol will solve his problems, the average Joe thinks more material goods, more sex, more drugs will solve his problems. Both cases their reality is real only to themselves.

to the above sceptics,

the physics you were taught in school 10 years ago has bin expanded on. new theories and study into particle physics do echo certain spiritual beliefs. part 1 of this video does little to show exactly how, but if you watch some of the recent science documentaries, ( 2003-2008 ), on sites like www.66stage.com it will fill in what this video leaves out. an accurate and unabridged translation of,"Seven Stanza From The Book of Dzyan", should fill in the blanks from a mystics stand point. to really see the parallels, one would have to have alittle knowledge in both mystism and quantum physics. personally i found them both worth the study
on to part 2 for me.

Condemnation without investigation is the ultimate form of ignorance.

While most of you spout off your objections acting as if your the authority on this matter I bet none of you have actually looked into any of this thoroughly enough as to make an informed decision. People like thinkbolt really chap my ass when all they can say is "Bull. Shit." Cant you see at all how incredibly ignorant that is?

Red Heaven, those are interesting questions. Why don`t you attempt to find the answers before you condemn this video just because didn`t happen to know the facts before you watched this. If you have questions after watching something that does not make it WRONG.

And that is the entire point behind the making of this video. It is supposed to leave you with questions and even objections in which hopefully will motivate you to investigate further into this subject. This is fascinating stuff hear people and even if you are able to prove it completely wrong after doing the research, at least you are all the better and all the wiser for actually investigating and learning.

No, they`re not "interesting" questions, they`re incredibly important. The burden of proof isn`t on me, it`s on the people presenting the video. They provide evidence without any backup. For all I know they`re making shit up.

It`s not -my- place to prove it, it is theirs. And their argument is insufficient in that regard.

And I did know the facts. I have taken several classes on Critical Thinking and how science works. Even a little bit of physics back when I was studying to be an engineer. When you try to make correlations between something like religion and science you`re going to have to follow scientific rules.

Does this work as philosophy? Barely. But bringing science to the table also requires getting ready for scientific questions. Does the video bring any answers for these questions? Does the video carry the burden of proof?

No.

The second it brought "Science" in, it was in trouble. Welcome to the nature of science. It`s a bitch, but science doesn`t leave room for pseudo-theological philosophy bullshit. You enter the science ring then you gotta` play by the science rules.

This movie completely lacks any argumentation for taking Buddhism seriously. All that is done is showing some parallels that can be seen with a stretch of the imagination. All the hugely irrational and unlikely elements of Buddhism, such as reincarnation (and the magically-existing-morals that guide you to different forms (or none) to reincarnate to).

The slight parallels that are shown between science and Buddhism for a large part even rest on common mistakes on how quantum-mechanics really works (for as far as we know). By far most people that spend their lives investigating this frontier of human knowledge would say there is no reason to believe consciousness effects anything. Even better, dualism, the rather unscientific but the it-kind-of-feels-that-way manner of regarding mind and body as separate entities, is just about dead in most serious science and philosophy, except for religious branches.

All the people that think this video is great are really doing anything different from Christians that like to adopt pseudo-science to make their world image fit what they want it to do. Just because Buddhism is more peaceful than Christianity doesn`t make it any more irrational to start following it because it correspondents with what you want to believe and that what you are told is (quantum) physics.

If you want awesome very old ways of thinking that have parallels with science, look at the Atomists of Epicurists of ancient Greece. Their completely materialistic worldview, their deterministic worldview, their separation between primary and secondary qualities (you don`t actually see a rose, you see the particles (fotons we know today, some sort of atomic-membranes the Atomists thought)comming from the rose, not the actual object (unlike direct knowledge of the object like people normally think/thought). Really, `has nothing on` some of the ancient Greeks.

People that Want something to be true are the reason mankind has been mislead by religions and superstitions for ages. So stop doing it.

Oh, and people making claims about the consciousness-problem should at least read up on it, and the views on it of modern neuro-scientists / pilosophers.
