this isn`t a fusion documentary...it`s the public shaming and marginalization of a scientist from the scientific community. well done, BBC.

I may be missing something here but.

Why dont they assume that fusion is taking place, and take it from there. Build the machine to do what ever is needed and then test if it creates more energy than is imputed.

Flame me if i am dumb.

Squints - that would be an expensive undertaking w/ no conclusive proof it would work. Would you build a 20 million dollar home only to find out you couldn`t get a permit from the city to live in the building?

Aside from that, I don`t believe everything I see and hear on TV specials. Especially when the peers reviewing the subject matter have vested interests in the community it pertains to. History is loaded w/ people who have stolen ideas and belittled ideas in order to keep others from coming out on top.

@willtopower

I agree, I feel that a failure is just as good as a success as far a as science is concerned. Proof for or against is proof after all. I feel that there is a dogma against stepping outside of conventional scientific concepts because people are afraid of being wrong, and thus tarnishing their reputation.

So you have the identical conditions of his experiment right? Well as close as we can get. So that`d be a NO. Waste of time if it`s not identical

Well said Alpha.
They wanted him to fail that much was obvious from the very beginning.
This "mockumentary" was designed with one intent..
to send a clear message to other researchers in this field: "shut the fuck up, unless you want this to happend to you too".

dont neutrons have a measureable speed that is different from that of the speed of light? isnt it then reasonable to assume that the neutron detections would immediately FOLLOW the detection of the light, as opposed to happening at the exact same time? wouldnt this delay then be dependent on the distance of the detector from the rest of the experiment and the actual speed of the neutrons themselves? knowing this in advance is it not then possible to set up the neutron detector in phase with this prediction or to look for events within this timeline?

if it is the sensitivity of the neutron detector that limits the ability to record flashes of activity in smaller cross-sections of time, then why not invest in a more sensitive detector?

it was said Tesla invented a free-energy device which harvested universal energy (chi) but was suppressed by the government or powers that be which don`t want humanity to be free of its shackles. in the same way i don`t think easily/cheaply produced energy will become a reality for a while yet just because these assholes loving fucking us (thank you Bill Hicks!).

indeed willtopower. At least Rusi and the older gentlemen we previously saw tried they`re best, and just because they were encouraged by they`re peers to publish they`re work they get scrutinized. absolute rubbish.

A great story, and I remain hopeful for this most important discovery. Also informatve regarding Cold Fusions faliure.
One critisism though, as soon as I saw that the lab enviroment for Horizon`s experiment was so dramatically it that it looked like frankenstein lab, it kinda lost a lot of credibility for me. Nobody works in such dim lighting.
