South Korean Helicopter Crash

In South Korea a helicopter carries a one ton sculpture through the air. It is to be placed on top of the Olympia Bridge in Seoul. The operation goes horribly wrong; the hook won`t come loose. The helicopter`s three man crew does not survive.

looks like it came loose to me when the prop chopped it off, They got the job done but paid for it with their lives :/

Looks like the chopper lost power, nothing to do with the hook.

^suc33d^ yeh, it kept on descending, seemed unnatural for a trained pilot to do that knowing the blades will get fucked like that....or mayb he underestimated the situation...

Perhaps he thought that if he descended the hook would come off. He didn`t take into account the length of the blades...

Well to ME it seems like the hook was indeed stuck and when he left to take off thinking the hook was disconnected the line pulled him back towards the structure and i think he was trying not to descend but had no control at that point

He just couldn`t keep his lift, those things need some serious power to stay up, maybe the weather was bad as well. In any case I don`t think the pilot thought he was clear coming down, I`ll bet there was a a lot of swearing in Korean in those last few moments.

Thats exactly why only Americans should fly OUR helicopters we designed. I was over there and their pilots are not that great at all.
