Personally I love the good clean hockey hits, not so big on the fighting.

The cheap shot and using sticks as weapons should be cracked down on even more. 20 game suspension? Try a season or something without pay etc.

^ agreed. A lot of them are just suicide passes. I wonder out of all the people that complain about the violence in hockey have actually tried to throw a punch while on skates, or take a hit...

As for the sticks, drop the instigator rule, and let the enforcers do their job.

Nah I`m Canadian, and I love Hockey. Fights happen, shit happens. Clear the bench if you really need to teach the other team a lesson. But standing around for a minute while the refs and everyone watch 2 guys try and fight. That`s not hockey that`s boxing. We got that we can watch too if we want.

The stick swinging and unsuspecting cheap shots are an intent to injure and should warrent suspensions no doubt. But also, those hits when the players had the puck were legal, shoulder to body, elbows tucked in. They just looked brutal cause the hit was one sided, and the players had their head down staring at the puck, which is dangerous. The Stevens hit was clean, and it nearly ended Kariyas career.

i definately think they need bigger suspensions for stick play, boarding, and elbows to the head. but as for getting rid of fighting...hockey wouldn`t survive it. it would just cause more players to use their stick as an axe.

btw the first clip is the reason Steve Moore will never play hockey again. you can`t take cheap shots on star players and expect to get away with it(can you tell im a vancouver fan?)
