These aren`t RC they are control line. fast is cool, but if all your doing is going in a circle then it seems to get boring quick.

This is some crazy shit. It took me a second veiw to figure out wtf was going on. The guy on the post swings the wire to keep the car moving, while slack is still in the line, and then jumps on the pole, while this razor sharp wire whips around at him at 200+mph. If he falls off the post, that wire would take his head off...

^because hes slowing down?
I think they put it in a circle and on a line so they can actually get up to top speed without needing a large runway. Plus it looks like someones yard so unless you can fit a large runway into your yard this seems like a good way to test the speed of an RC conveniently.

200mph = 89.408 meters per sec

that`s fast enough to run down the airport runway in less then 20 sec
