Wow that`s even more impressive than the mantis shrimp, which can punch a hole through aquarium glass with a single strike from its claw. Hurts like a bullet supposedly.

It`s a well known problem with SONAR on submarines, as these shrimp are often found at a certain depth and create a sort of barrier. The shrimp layer has so many of these guys, the sound from their claws snapping (which is one of the loudest natural sounds on the planet) prevents anybody above them hearing anything below and vice versa.

Although the "bubbles" reach the temperature of the sun, it is only a small amount of water vapour actually reaches these temperatures and only for an extremely brief amount of time.
