Can anyone give a scientific explanation as to why when I watch videos dealing with heights my feet start to tingle?

What evolutionary purpose does such a reaction serve?



Anyhow, this guy is massively talented. Some of those leaps he took were insane.

I wonder what Bear Grylls would say of him.

Dan Osman is famous for his crazy free-soloing feats and also for ‘controlled free-falling’ (his record was 1200ft). Controlled-free falling is basically just jumping off high things attached to a climbing rope (and hopefully a very well-thought out set of anchors). It is not similar to bungee jumping, in that just standard climbing rope with limited stretch is used. Dan Osman died in 1998 whilst performing one of this jumps when his rope cut. He was undoubtedly an amazing climber, but he often came under stick in the climbing community for being downright stupidly dangerous.

I believe his last jump was somewhate rushed because he was under pressure from police/authorities that were trying to prevent him from doing any more jumps (due to their dangerous nature). His jump rig had also been setup a while before the jump, contributing to the weakness of the system.

Lol, This has to be Fake! I think he had a savety cable and they just modified the video. U can see the way his back is turned when he climbs up fast, really looks like a cable holds him there. Still a pretty good climb though.
