Horowitz plays Traumerei in Moscow

In April 1986 Horowitz held a concert in Moscow... About the piece: "Traumerei" was sort of adopted by the Russian people as sort of a theme song for the suffering inflicted on their country during World War II. Apparently it was played across the Soviet Union when Germany surrendered in 1945.

This is piece #7 from Schumann`s Kinderszenen (a total of 13 short pieces), Opus 15, composed 1838.

Kinderszenen means "Scenes from Childhood". Traumerei means "reverie", and you can almost imagine a child getting sleepy and falling asleep in this music.

I like how he had every one in the audience crying. It looked like they could see and hear important ghosts.
