I am a microbiology student, in gene therapy. But I want to make humans smarter. Who knows maybe we will be doing this a lot sooner.

BTW yes the`re are some dangers with messing with your DNA...but we all must be prometheus

We are barking the wrong tree here. Why in this day of age are we still considering gravity based science a taboo science. Gentelman the simple fact is this. Until we learn how to manipulate magnetic field and gravity we are not going nowhere. One ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. The answers is in the earth itself. Spaceship and human being require magnetic shielding. And other thing if we belief we can go anywhere using technology from 50 years ago and we don`t release the studied alien technology they been experimenting with then we are fools. What happen to the Hutchisson effect, cold fusion, zero point, anti-gravity. Until they tell use the truth about what they have we are going NOWHERE not to the moon, nor mars. It will not happen. Hell we cannot even break our needs on oil for fuel. Remember the Beta voltaic cell was developped in the 60`s for galileo and most people are just finding out about now.

Remember Natural Selection is happening absolutely. We are not independent of it. Every action in this documentary involves Natural Selection. It is like time, it has an affect on everything which is just outside our reach. All of what you see humans do also every action ever produce by any organism is Evolution by Natural Selection. The longer we live, the longer we stay in the game, the more we change; and Nature has given us a mind to change ourselves. Who knows what will happen.

the radiation thing reminds me of the anime "Planetes." i thought the series was awesome because of it`s commitment to realism. there`s inertia, no sound in space, no fancy gadgets, no flashy battles. it`s so mundane. some astronauts in the series even get cancer from prolonged exposure to space radiation or post traumatic stress disorder from accidents

some scientist have already solved the radiation problem. they cause the space craft to emit it`s own magnetic field thus doing exactly what the earth does. sometimes the simplest solutions are the best plus they know that this will work.
