Damn props to the Japanese guy. At first I thought he was done for.

Great job of recovery, composing himself and focusing on taking the guy down. He knew couldn`t KO him, aiming for a tap, smart move.

This Akiyama is dude awesome. Great jujitsu, every time he got dropped to the floor, he somehow managed to use it to his advantage.

The Gi that Akiyama is wearing is basically a weapon. he won by an arm lock sumbission and the Gi prevented slippage due to sweat etc so in my opinion it`s a bit unfair.
Of course it can work the other way and the sweaty opponant might be able to get a better grip on him but on the whole the Gi gives Akiyama an unfair advantage.
Still he showed some skill in reversing the takedown.

The Gi, as with Hoyce Gracey back in the day should be classed as a weapon and not allowed, even if it is cultural.

Also, i have to say that i hate the way fights in Japan insist on using a boxing ring. They clearly arn`t suitable for this kind of fight, evidenced by the way they are allways falling out of it.
It`s very annoying to see the ref and lather hitting the players arms whenever they are against the ropes.
i hate the insane screaming they do too.
I also hate the fact that the fighters can be fined ten percent of their pay for instinctive behavoir such as spitting on the ground etc.
Rant over.
