^ Not just Easter, the whole bloody calendar of holidays and a good deal of the Saints themselves; recycled pagan festivals and heroes (but with all the good pagan sex stuff washed out).

I reference sex about as much as you, about as much as the Bible. In case you haven`t noticed as you`ve been trolling through my comment history, unlike you and the Bible, however, my treatment of sex, homosexuality and women is open, accepting and affirming. Unlike you and the Bible, I do not equate sex, homosexuality, masturbation etc. with shame and degradation.

I believe we should be able to talk about sex with the same ease and open-ness with which we talk of eating or sports - sharing our preferences, experiences and desires with the same naturalness we have when talking about our favourite foods or a good restaurant; no shame, no secrecy or humility, none of that *guilt* that thousands of years of Judeo-Christian-Islam has damned us with, beaten us with, burned us at the stake with, gay-bashed us with.

Something about that "jealous" blood-thirsty, war-mongering, circumcising, "God of Love" (?!?!) might ring true with you, although in all your posts you`ve only ever expressed the `hate` part, not the `love`.

It`s not your belief in God that`s a problem, per se, it`s the fact that you`re a racist, homophobic, hater who runs areound here, and likely the rest of the world, stinking up the place like a fart in the car.

If you do see some model for love in the words of God, or in the deeds of his followers, it sure would be nice if you`d share that or exemplify that.

For once. Even once.

I lol`d. I <3 Eddie Izzard. I was raised Christian, and I thought this was awesome.

This does put the lie to mainstream Christianity. As already mentioned, there`s so much paganism infused with modern day Christian practice, the Apostles would faint dead away if they saw it. Hell, you aren`t even supposed to be observing the Sabbath on Sunday. In the Bible, it`s Saturday, the Seventh day, from the beginning of the book to the end, until ye high and mighty Pope (Roman Mithraic Pontifex. pwned) decided to change it to appease the pagans they were bringing into the fold, you know, AFTER the Bible was done being written, compiled, etc. People bitch and whine about Bible-thumpers, but really, there aren`t too many out there who are actually thumping it to the tune of what it really says, but rather what`s convenient for them. So if Christians don`t take it seriously, why should anyone else?

just being a christian doesn`t mean you`re part of the problem, but if you`re a narrow-minded christian that believes that everything in the bible is fact instead of just stories to live your life by, then you are part of the problem.
