Goalie Goes Psycho In Junior Hockey Braw...

Jonathan Roy, son of legendary goalie Patrick Roy, attacks the opposing goaltender in a junior hockey playoff game. Patrick Roy, the team`s coach, can be seen ordering his son to go fight the other goalie as he is restrained by the officials. The two teams, Quebec and Chicoutimi, have had a huge rivalry going in the past couple years where brawls have broken out.

Luckily the other goaltender, Bobby Nadeau, was not hurt during the attack.

Jonathan Roy received a 7 game suspension from the league, while Patrick Roy (coach) received 5 games. Both have since apologized for their actions.

I`d like to see him take on Mike Vernon`s son, what a beating he`d take then, but of course not before Brendan Shanahan`s son flew through air to slam him into the ice. Then of course, McCarty`s boy would score the game winner in overtime....ahh life is sweet when you can relive the glory days through your child, right Patrick?

^ I think his "glory days" were a little more GLORIOUS than those couple fights you mentioned. As much of an asshole of Patrick is and was, he is arguably the best goaltender of all-time, and IS the best playoff goaltender of all-time.

4 Cups, 3 Conn Smythes, 3 Vezinas, and the all-time winningest goaltender (soon to be beaten by Brodeur).

Cant argue with that.

I`m glad Roy Jr. got suspended. Thats not hockey. If the other goaltender is minding his own business and doesn`t want to fight, which he was, then there is no reason to go charging down the ice and sock him one, (or 3 or 4). Its actions like these that get people talking, who have no idea about hockey, to take fighting out of the game. What a douche. He`s hurtin` the sport.

Fucking pointless. Just play some fucking hockey already! I do like to see some fights though, but not when they break out with the whole damn team invloved. Just a waste of time in my opinion.

lol, he should be charged with assault. A fair fight is one thing, but to go out of your way like that and then raise your arms in the air for praise from the crowd...you have problems friend. He needs more than a suspension, he needs help. But, in his deffense...he is french after all. This kind of behavior is expected of him.

I don`t get it, how come hockey is such a brawly sport. I mean fotball is way more physical but I hardly see any games where a bunch of people try and beat the living snot out of each other like hockey people does.

Roy jr. is a goalie on the team his dad coaches and is the backup goalie. How much do you have to suck to not be able to start for the team your dad coaches.

I also believe Roy`s team got beat 7-1

total class.
