The original script for 'Leon' had more "Awkward sexual tension". These scenes were later removed from the American release, 'The Professional', but were kept in the European version.

Well it might have made to the cinema screens here in Europe but when I watched it on TV both in France and the UK I never saw this part. Maybe they cut it out for TV here too.

Fantastic film though.

Great movie, kinda glad they removed this.

I always figured it was hard for him to hurt her feelings so he made up some elaborate story.
Mathilda was coming on to him in a innocent, childish way and Leon rejected her the most gentle way possible --with a fairy tale.

I `like` this scene a lot. Its not awkward in any respect if you use your brain to understand why she`s acting the way she is.

Mathilda is virtually clueless when it comes to sex, relationships, etc and bounces off whatever she sees and hears from her sister and friends. You know how useless and abusive her parents are in the beginning of the movie so its pretty obvious that theres no one guiding this girl.
This movie screams the already important consensus that a girl needs a positive father figure in her life.
