I`m sure its not intentional, but everytime I see reports about Asia in Canadian TV, they always use Asian reporters. I mean we (Canada) have tons of `em.

ugh, they only let reporters in once the military was forewarned, so as to act in a defensive manner. typical communism.

Oh, I`m sure it`s plenty intentional. Seems to me an asian person might have an easier time in China. Less conspicuous anyway. He did get in for an exclusive. Something a white fellow may not have been able to do. Not to mention the language barrier.

Canadian televisions how a great deal of neutrality to independence of states/provinces internationally. They understand that independence is not an issue to be take lightly. Many in Quebec is vowing for independence and Canada refusing it. In this report you can see that they never mentioned whether they are for or against the riot. They just said it`s spreading to other provinces and getting out of control. Frankly, it`s a lot better than some (most) American news networks. They always show some degree of bias toward a free and independent Tibet and comparing this outbreak to Tiananmen Square. U.S. is always pushing for free Tibet/Taiwan from China. Frankly, I say let China govern their own country and mind your own fucking business. If China adopt democracy is only because the nation is ready to adopt it. Let democracy come to China gradually, don`t force it on them. And democracy doesn`t always work.

^^btw, i do believe they have elections in china, just no political partys (or only one, same thing). and their `national assembly` is off limits to the press. wich can be good or bad depending on how you look at it.
even if they were democratic the western way, tibet would be a very small minority, and probly wouldnt get to breakoff to become a religeous theocracy.
There was a very good piece done on the chinese goverment and how it operates by the cbc, if i find it ill post it.

^^ a good 30 or 40 percent of quebec wants to split from canada. we gave them a reforendum (a vote to split) but we never would have honored it. we just gave it to them to get them to shut the hell up. i honestly dont know where i stand on the "free tibet" issue. i dont think i know enough to form an opinion.

^ Its WROng although China did many things wrong.. don`t we see that in many other countries such as US?

Tibet asking indep.. is like asking Scotland to leave UK and become a Country. Or Quebec leaving Canada or like what happened to USSR which ended up being worst then before..

All this free Tibet/Taiwan from China bullshit is fuckin pissing me off. So Taiwan wants to split from China and become a democratic country of their own? Who the fuck said democracy is always better than socialism? Yes, socialism, not fuckin communism anymore. People in the western world who mindlessly support "Free Tibet/Taiwan" need to get to know a few things before they stick their fuckin heads into other country`s fuckin business.

Here`s quality camera footage by Australian tourist of the Tibetan riots:

http://youtube.com/watch?v=FP8ELPLESYI

And here`s CNN news coverage of the Chinese shops marked for burnings, and a little bit of the Chinese being beaten/set on fire. And of the hesitant response by the Chinese government to help rescue the Chinese civilians, and instead opted to wait and let the rioting run its course for the day before sending any police in:

http://www.cnn.com/2008/WORLD/asiapcf/03/20/tibet.miles.interview/in
dex.html?iref=24hours

Basically, this Tibetan cause is like the LA Rodney King riots by blacks in 1992, where the cause and resentment may be noble, but the destruction is savage.
