Looks like a halon system. Remember Terminator 2? Just before they blow up the 4th floor in the office building? Halon works by removing oxygen from the atmosphere, sorta. I cant wait to find this elusive button.

actually clubs have these kind of smoke machines at the top of the ceilings. only they don`t release that much smoke, and its very refreshing when its hot.
