Get a Creative Zen. I`ve had my Zen Touch for 4 years and it still works and I just got a new Zen which has an amazing 30 hour battery life, and costs half as much as a PoS Ipod

My ipod is half dead. All the original songs I put on it don`t work anymore. Only new stuff I put on it works. Better than nothing I guess.

I bought a creative zen... i owned it for a week before i realised that is was fuckin shit... really! I tried to sell it, no takers.

As the saying goes, you get what you pay for, and a cheap ass creative zen is cheap, but has functionality to match.

Then i bit the bullet and bought a black ipod nano - havent looked back since!

The only decent thing creative makes are the E-MU M-series soundcards - but even they dont actually make them, they only make the drivers, which are fuckin shit (i should know, i own one - wave audio has a tendency to clip/distort... use 3rd party drivers instead? - perfection!)

if we`re all listing what we use for mp3s, i use a Sony w580i walkman phone. my only complaint about no name mp3 players is volume.

RECIPE FOR APPLE PRODUCTS:

1. Take an existing, working product
2. Paint it white and put an "i" in front of it`s name
3. Reduce it`s lifetime by 1/4 and give no way to fix it (make them buy another one every 6 months)
4. Triple it`s price and do extensive marketing campaigns aimed at making people using your product looking cool
5. Make shitloads of money.
6. Repeat.

I have never owned an ipod, but that was pretty neat. I have some crappy 1GB mp3 player made by Aigo instead. Bought it 2 years ago, it runs on a single rechargable AAA battery. It lasts -weeks- of intensive use without running out of power, and has never skipped, failed or broken. Unknown brands can really surprise you.

haha, nice. Yeah ive had my iPod for a couple years, the battery whent shitty, nd the headphone jack is busted when you plug in headphones only one headphone works. Its collecting dust in a lego box now, lol, RIP

this is jus some bullshit aimed at digging at the apple name. yeah its a shitty over comercialised corporation that charges way over the odds for items that are mainly form over function but fuck it, had my ipod 28months now, not a sign of it stopping working, still have original headphones too. yeah the battery life sucks if watching vids but its essentially an mp3 player and for that it scores a 10 every time. only shit point is the lack of mpeg/avi and wma playback
