All the sniper scenes from saving private ryan I think. From 1:50 to the end is probably my favorite part in the entire movie. btw is he using a springfield?

I`d say it Springfield `03, Garand snipers were rare and deployed only after D-Day. But I`m sure there is a bigger war buff than me in here...

Dahonga,

Mythbusters revisited that myth using a period-accurate scope. The bullet did penetrate through the scope and up to 2 inchs in to the ballistic gel head. So it was plausible.

The idea of a sniper putting a bullet through another sniper`s scope came from the story of a Marine Corp. sniper in Vietnam called Carlos Hathcock, who allegedly killed a V-C sniper who was stalking him by putting a bullet through the sniper`s scope.

Corporal Rob Furlong serving in Afghanistan (Operation Anaconda), holds the current record. A confirmed kill at 2,430 meters using a .50 caliber McMillan TAC-50 rifle - Surpassing Sergeant Carlos Hathcock`s shot (2251m) by 179 meters.

Needless to say, booth insanely impressive.

Oh, and I think TigerRenko is right. Looks a lot like a Springfield M1903A4.
