Meet the new king. Guinness World Record Run - 256.18 mph not quite sure if this is the video of said run , but who cares... it is still badass. btw it costs half as much as the Veyron.

This is 4mph faster than the veyron... so 4mph every year, divide 770mph by that... and we`ll get 192 and a half years before we break the speed of sound. nice!

I knew about this car for a few years now and told people about here who argued that the Veyron was the fastest. Thanks for uploading a video showing it off 5/5.

- Aluminium Block and Heads (V-8)
- 1183 bhp @ 6950 rpm
- 1094 lb./ft. @ 6150 rpm
- Weight to Horsepower Ratio (lbs/hp): 2.33 New production record!
- In 6th gear at 7200 rpm its has been spec`d at 259.75mph

Now they are estimating that it will actually hit higher speeds of up to 273mph in optimal conditions (temperature, humidity, weather conditions)
The car will cost an estimated $654,500 US.

Being an American built car the SSC Ultimate Aero is mighty impressive. Now does it matter to most people that this car is like 10-20mph faster than the Bugatti NO, but I actually love the way this car looks. It just looks fast and sporty, whereas the Veyron looks too stylised too eccentric. The SSC Aero isn`t a fasion statement it`s a HYPERCAR, thats why I like the subtle style of the McLaren F1 and this car and not super expensive Veyrons, that cost so much because they have such things as 5000$ magnesium turn signal levers.

BTW the Veyron got outpaced by a relatively cheap Nissan GT-R at the Nurburgring (by 5 sec), the McLaren F1 did it in second fastest time ever at 7:11, I`ll be eager to see how the SSC performs.

and to lose to a nissan gt-r34 or the proto iz noting 2 b ashame of...the skyline gt-r34 iz the only car to hav reviewerz say "the only thing this car cannot do, is drive itself" the skyline iz a superb car so becareful who you try to disrespect in the car industry

n also the proto has dominated even the porsche carrera GT...so shhh

Okay props to the Ultimate Aero. For its achievement. However the Veyron is in a different league the the Ultimate aero about the only place the compete in is Top speed and price outside the in terms of functionality and practicality I`m willing to bet the Veyron has this car beat.

That being said I like the styling of the SCCUA much better then the veyron....different approaches to the same goal though. SSCUA angle aerodynamics....Veyron Bubble wing aerodynamics..

nothing is said about this car`s interior. if it`s as barebone as a McLaren F1, i`ll stick with Veyron. this car looks real sharp and edgy... which is good if you want to scream "LOOK AT ME!". Veyron does the same thing without screaming.

Guess he must be an uber leet CS player or something in order to type like that..... and doesn`t realise that using a "z" in place of almost every single "s" you`d have to type just makes you look retarded. surprised he didn`t type "Porzche"

As for the SSC Aero...... others are right in saying that it`s an odd comparison to say the Aero is the better car, when the Veyron is roughly 1,300lbs heavier. Then there`s the fact that the Veyron is electronically limited. I mean come on...... 8-litre Quad-turbocharged W-16 engine? They probably have the thing electronically limited because having it going full blast would blow the engine to shreds..... not to mention probably not really any tires would be able to hold up to much higher speeds.

Oh.... and did anybody look at pictures of the car? where`s the rear wing? isn`t the utter lack of a wing on the back for downforce one of the main reasons Top Gear hated the original design of the CCX? no rear downforce = crappy higher-speed turning ability. Unless it`s front-wheel drive, in which it`s ugly-as-hell looking front end would probably suffice in keeping the front of the car down. Can`t keep it down too far though.... seeing as there`s next to no ground clearance either. wouldn`t make it over a speedbump without causing several hundred dollars worth of body damage. Also can`t imagine going on a road where roadkill happens.... which is... just about EVERY road. couldn`t imagine hitting a skunk in that thing. *GAG*

If you ask me..... it looks way too much like a mix between a Corvette and a Lamborghini. the Veyron has style.... class.... LUXURY. the SSC Ultimate Aero looks like it`d have the comfort of driving down your average road in a go-kart..... no suspension.

Elemental, the car that was featured on Top Gear that got negative remarks on the lack of controllability at high speeds as a result of a lack of downforce, was the Koenigsegg CCR, NOT the SSC.

I love the design style of the SSC Ultimate Aero, because it reminds me of the Lamborghini Countach.

Wakeupb4its2l8: uuh.... i don`t recall saying that the SSC was the car that was on Top Gear that got shipped back to Koenigsegg to put a wing on it due to lack of downforce causing next to no high-speed cornering. And it also wasn`t the CCR. it was the Koenigsegg CCX.

And i really think the SSC is ugly as sin. seriously..... even if it is street legal.... how many streets can you drive that on? there`s like LITERALLY an inch of ground clearance.

.... who exactly is crying? if you really think the SSC Ultimate Aero is a Veyron killer..... then everyday roads are the SSC Ultimate Aero killer. try taking it on a road like what it was driven on in video where they had a tour of the production facility (think it was 5th gear, not Top Gear that had that one). take the SSC on any average road, and you`d be paying for body repairs constantly due to the very low ride. They basically didn`t make a car. they just made something to try to surpass the Veyron`s top speed, and actually be able to do it. The Veyron far outclasses the SSC in every aspect. Also have to remember the electronic limiting of the Veyron. if a 6.35L twin-turbo V8 in the SSC can do just under 10mph faster than the Veyron.... what makes you think that the 8L Quad-turbo W-16 is running at it`s maximum potential?

Oh.... and the SSC may have the faster top speed.... but the Veyron still has a faster acceleration. yet another addition to the many things the Veyron has over the SSC.

Love how once someone points out the flaws in one car as compared to another, and instant "fanboy" flag is raised. does saying "fanboy" make you feel "leet" or "l33t" or "1337" or something along those lines? Maybe it makes you feel like you "pwned" me or something like that? in actuality, it just makes you look like a dick.
