Why does the fact that L. Ron "Old Mother" Hubbard was a sci-fi writer not strike any of his followers as being questionable? I mean c`mon now, that`s just asinine.

Because it has nothing to do with him being a sci-fi writer. That just shows a love for writing. The many books he wrote about dianetics and whatever is what they focus on.

Keep the arguments against CO$ solid, quoting him is a much better idea than drawing reference to his passion.

"I`d like to start a religion. That`s where the money is!" L. Ron Hubbard

Kind of funny to watch a conflict such as this. I have thought long and hard about what I think of about it.

First off Anonymous should be careful it doesn`t become what it is trying to defeat. If you look at human conflicts all over the world and through out history you will see that many are fighting over the same thing. Control. It doesn`t matter of what as it will benefit the keeper regardless. Such as Ideas, Land, Resources, and -people-. Both sides are claiming to have a right over the other, and though they are different rights, both have the right to claim they do. Even if they don`t that is.

Anonymous has said specifically that this right is not what it is that they are trying to undo, per se, it will be a casualty of a larger un-doing. Mainly the injustices perpetrated against a people by the leaders of these people.

i.e Church of Scientology - CoS followers.

As well, the right to which they claim (Religion Status) is not only laughable but apparently can be dismantled. The only back effect that could stop this from happening is that it sets a very dangerous precedent. Benny Hinn is a charlatan, Kenneth G. Mills was a charlatan, Rael is a charlatan. The difference between these three is two are fringe, one is Evangelistic. Guess who wins on the money side? Benny Hinn. Why? Because he wields the stories and teachings in the Bible. Period. Nooooo... don`t mess with a man spreading the word of the Bible (even if he does line his pockets a little) that`s just the price you have to pay!

The price you have to pay for "enlightenment".

Try undoing that now.

The seat of the problem of Scientology is that it is -exactly- as twisted and controlling as religions you or I have been brought up with, fringe or not. However, it is the fringe "religions" that can be brought down. Not the ones exerting the real influence on our existence.

Now look at how much Scientology has reached into our lives. And it is still fringe. So imagine the intertwining religions and control platforms that exist that we actually accept.
That is why we attempt to separate church and state and fail.
While we may be able to pretend they are separable, they are in fact not.

Put into perspective now those who are agnostic or atheist. Through our lenses we see the seemingly insurmountable sickness of these "religious" movements. Their self perceived infallibility and resulting decisions they make. Scary Shit.

Sorry for the rant. I just hope that all cult and brainwashing institutions can have adversaries like Anonymous. (providing they stay the course and do not let corruption overtake them)

Thats all.....

Well said, Victorio.

If you look at history, the CO$ is kindergarten compared to what the Catholic Church has done (and what it IS).

^^^Victorio...The beauty of a group like anonymous is that it has no designs on control. They are random people coming together to achieve a very specific task. No one knows who anyone else is; thus it being "anonymous", therefore no one can gain control or push an agenda that would promote any centralized control. It is anarchic in structure and that is why it will work.

CO$ is a start, and a valid one. This is the beginning of a beautiful thing that could ultimately set us free from the tyranny of all religious indoctrination. One step at a time my friend. There is no need deny the panorama because you happen to be taking a picture of a tree.

^istayaway7...If you have no interest and don`t believe in the movement then why comment or even watch the video. Unless of course it is your purpose to drag other people down.

This is beyond stupid. People who join up w/ anonymous have no way of knowing that they aren`t being led by the Boho Club or S&B or even cos for that matter. How can you tell if you are talking w/ the same people if you are all anonymous? How can you tell that there isn`t cia all mixed up in the group? How can they tell the US military isn`t secretly helping guide their directon?

Go do something useful like free the slaves of america. Then I`d have less doubts about the aims of anonymous and the people in it`s ranks.

If you truely feel that the reason it`s uncorruptable is because it`s anonymous - go to cnn.com and read an article that has a comments page attached to it. YOu seriously think that all the comments are from real people who have no agenda? Are those comments not anonymous?

Don`t we have an anonymous voting system here in america? Do you really believe that we elect our leaders and they aren`t chosen for us?

Oh nos! The tyranny of religious indoctrination. God, gods, Darwin, or Mitch Hedberg (depending on your personal preference) forbid anybody actually think for themselves and make a fucking decision about running their own life. I`m not saying that Scientology isn`t a bunch of assholes, but drinking to excess is pretty stupid and kills a bunch of people, too, and if you spend to much energy on protecting people from themselves then we`ll all be rolling around in little plastic safety balls soon.

^Bebopbren - don`t be naive, everybody has an agenda, especially those who organize a group towards a specific end. And no matter how noble that end is, those organizing the group will either trounce the morals they claim to be defending to reach it, or reach and find that they have collected a significant amount of power in doing so, and then turn that power towards less noble ends...

^^Dagron...I don`t think you get it then. There is no group. It`s a bunch of people acting independently. They simply work under the title of Anonymous. There has been an identity created so that we can feel like we are not completely isolated. It`s the people who believe that it`s useless or silly to even try that are naive, because they will tow the line and do what they are told without thinking for themselves. I think that`s sad and pathetic. And since you very obviously don`t have a clue what your talking about maybe you should look a few things up and create an intelligent response next time.

So EVERYBODY WAKE UP and begin to think for yourself and know that we have the power of population they have the power of paper. Believe you are powerful and you are.

@Dagron - very well said. I personally know some very educated people who are religious. A close relative of mine used to work with a urologist who is a devout catholic, and what I really mean is that he even has a picture he took together with the Pope.

@Victorio - as much as I support Anonymous, vying to demolish all religions is a fallacy. Much like American politics, there will ALWAYS be and WILL be those who will use the most important things to all of us [needless to say, that we often take for granted] to suit their own selfish needs in search for power, glory of "god", wealth, CONTROL.
I.E. - Look at Ron Paul. The man is a Christian and the lot of us rooted for him. But did he win? No. Does it matter? No. Why?
Because it`s us, as individuals to see to it that we have the BEST for our beloved wives, our dearest children, and our closest friends.

"A great many of those who `debunk` traditional...values have in the background values of their own which they believe to be immune from the debunking process." - C.S. Lewis

A long time ago, with the help of my friends, we`ve won an international dancing championship. Some of the dances we used to perform are about imitating animals, worshiping the Aztec gods, and reliving our mexican culture on stage. But were we naive in participating in such acts? Some do because it was against `their` beliefs. But the majority of us did it because it was fun, inspiring, but above all - PART OF OUR CULTURE.
The day I meet an atheist and tells me about the ignorance of the world and it`s cruelty because of religion is the day I will show them what mi madre taught me best - to not let others waiver your integrity and desires, as that will make all the difference...
Thanks for reading it all [if you did] and I hope you find the patience to peruse the quotes over :]

"This is getting kinda old, but w/e there fighting a losing battle. Just look at the middle east. Religious wars are never ended reasonably. I just hope anon knows what its getting itself into."

Anon knows what it`s getting into, and a losing battle? I don`t think so. Pay attention to the news wires and everything that`s been going on, and Anon has already scored major victories. Jenna Miscavige has started speaking out in a major way and credits Anonymous for giving her the courage, and the LA Times has credited Anonymous with breaking media silence towards the crimes of the CoS. Information on the CoS that has previously not been seen is flooding the internet everyday, faster than the OSA can react, and we now know that L. Ron stole the concepts of Scientology from older sources. Leaks from the inside paint a picture of dissent and paranoia from within Scientology, and Anon has gotten into David Miscavige`s head. If Anonymous quit right now, the damage already done to the CoS would be defined as a victory.

And I`m getting damn sick and tired of people painting this as a war against religion. It`s no such thing, and anyone who thinks otherwise obviously has no idea what Anonymous stands for.
