H.R. 1955 is the final nail in the fascistic coffin which is enslaving a once free nation. The materialism, desensitizing, de-valuing of our nations collective morality, as well as the individuals` morality has proven to be quite useful in the age-old battle for world domination.

The battle hasn`t been fought by just "secret" societies, but by legitimate empires. Roman, British, Ottoman, Mayan, Aztec. The war for absolute power has never been able to come to fruition in the past because the technology wasn`t there. With the advent of radio, movies, television, and especially the internet, they`re able to pound our senses and seep into the very thing which makes us such a successful species, our thoughts.

The overwhelming majority of the movies and TV shows we`ve seen have shown a single man, or an elite group of people "saving" humanity, or the world, or, dare I say, Democracy itself. The mindless masses either, ignorant of the events that are unfolding in front of them, or have unfolded throughout the timeline, or follow the "hero(`s)" with little knowledge as to why they`re following.

This implants a theory in people`s mind that if and when a time would come that humanity, the world, or Democracy came under threat that there would be some element to save us all, not realizing that they themselves are those hero`s. They are the ones who are going to have to take to the streets and if need be take arms against their oppressors. There won`t be any Hollywood style ending, and yes, there may very well be death and destruction. If H.R. 1955 gets passed, this very comment could have me at Guantanamo Bay, or in a CIA sponsored secret prison somewhere on Earth.

The time is NOW. Flood your Congressman/woman`s phone lines and emails and DEMAND that they not pass this. For if they do, YOU will take to the streets. YOU won`t be legislated into submission. YOU will not stand idly by and watch as the very essence of being human gets cast off as a threat to social "order".

Only YOU can thwart disaster. Do something.

Wakeupb4its2l8t you said it better than I could have at the moment because of all the crap swirling through my head right now. The government is hitting us on so many different fronts at once its dividing the people over what is more important to look at. That doesn`t even begin to mention all the distractions they have for people in the world today. Alot of people have seen and understand whats going on but too some it is too scary to do anything. Then there are alot of others who do think but aren`t aware of whats going on because of mainstream distractions. Then there are the sleepers, those who don`t care or are unwilling to listen because how could the government be accused of such things. It`s a hard and scary battle yes, but it is a harder and scarier reallity that they are creating. I don`t want to hear crap about fear mongering from any of you whiney ass streamliners either. We are just sharing the truth. The government loves to pass laws that look like one thing that they can twist later on to fit another purpose.

^ No, but they are going to heavily censor it, much like China, Iran, Saudi Arabia, and other such dictatorial nations where morality is subject to legislation, either by the courts, or religious law.

A correction for my previous post: They won`t have me at Gitmo overseas. I`ll be held in a FEMA detention camp here in the States.

The majority of FEMA`s funding goes towards building detention centers and transit hubs to feed those detention centers. These detention centers aren`t meant to be anything other than "internment/concentration/detention/re-education" camps to be used to quell the upcoming storm.

Has anyone here read the bill? It doesn`t outlaw anything. It doesn`t restrict free thougtht and it doesn`t violate the right to freedom of speach or the press. All of the actions listed in the bill involve setting up funds for studying homegrown terrorism and creating outreach programs for atrisk populations. Read the bill before you submit to someone`s random internet propoganda.

^RAzz13d is right, it does appear to be a spending bill. It even lists law enforcement as one of the prohibitted use of funding:

Prohibited Uses- Funds provided as a grant may not be used--

`(1) for law enforcement activities, except for programs that include outreach activities

^^Read the bill. It is available online. People worry about the interpretation of the word force. It really doesn`t matter in context with the bill. The bill doesn`t prohibit anything. It doesn`t authorize any law enforcement activities other than outreach programs and it doesn`t regulate thought in any way. It is an authorization bill for the Department of Homeland Security to start different education programs and outreach efforts in order to stop homegrown terrorists from gaining converts in certain areas. In other words, the terrorists freely go out and offer their propaganda, now the government wants a way to counter it.
