Believe it or not, I was raised in a religious cult. I can prove it and have many strange tales to tell. Scientology scares the shit out of me, even with my experiences. Money is a major factor in ALL cults. That is one of a cult`s main qualifiers.
Others are emotional investment and forced physical or emotional detachment from loved ones.

The group my parents were in was not a death cult or out to influence large groups of people. It was emotionally and financially abusive but no one was physically hurt. ~edit not entirely true :|

I see many ex-members and their children (some my childhood friends) at christmas and other functions. These things really happen, cults really do exists and they can severely impact people`s lives. What is truly scary about scientology is that L.Ron Hubbard`s influence extends greatly beyond his death and has pervaded societies world wide.

Vote me down if you like but I think it is important to point out that the ugliness seen in Scientology is the same ugliness that underlies all mono-theistic religions. Strict adherence to doctrine or damaging punishment. And I think that disconnection from loved ones is pretty damaging and seems to be doled out as punishments or "requirements" for further growth. Or a bit of both.

The main tool of control is maintaining a monopoly on Ideas and ruining/embarrassing in any way shape or form the challenging thinker. This is not akin to Scientology alone.

I can remember as a boy being in one of the washrooms at the one of the "unfoldments" and seeing a pile of cash in the collection plate. The favored men were in a group called the "Star Scape Singers" look them up. The ones who fell out of favor were either removed or humiliated. Money was also "donated" at these unfoldments and choir performences. I`ve been to Kenneth G. Mills house as a kid. He had a gold plated limousine
I also got my ass beat for falling asleep during his birthday party. Me, my brother and my sister were all named by KGM, not my parents.

So if anyone knows what a fucking cult is, I do.

And Scientology is a Cult. Anyone think about physical abuses?
I will 100% guarantee that they are happening. These people must be stopped now before they do succeed at what ever it is they are trying to do (World Domination? omfg...) anonymous may have been a bunch of online thugs (or not or whatever) but they have found a movement that does matter and must be helped.

I feel for those kids in the other video too. Vote these up 5/5
