The Tank Man 1/8

This is my first upload and because it is such an incredibly educational video I felt compelled to upload it here to Spike. I apologize for it being embedded but what are ya gonna do, ya know? This is a documentary about quite possibly the most famous unknown man in all of China. During the protests in 1989 at Tiananmen Square in Beijing China after hundreds possibly even thousands had been killed this man was still defiant and stood up for the people of China. I recommend looking up more information on Wikipedia (naturally) about the Gang of Four, Cultural Revolution, and Mao Zedong. An amazing man.

Or maybe that guy was having a real bad day, like a chinese Falling Down. Perhaps he even argued with a white shop owner over the price of a pepsi, came out, saw this shit and went bananas.

i remember seeing this in the newspaper and time magazine in 1st grade, i din`t understand what it was about. i actually never saw a documentary about this event, this thing is monumental, just like the berlin wall and other recent events. thanks for upload

I made the comment when the original clip aired on spiked....the commander of the tank is as equal to "tank man" in bravery because he knew the wrath that would fall on HIS head for his (in the military`s eyes) lack of leadership.....if you follow HIS story also you will learn of his life after this internationally seen event.....it takes two to be in a conflict and he probably was just as disgusted seeing his coumtrymen killed and also said....enough!

This video took awhile to get to the front page, and for awhile I thought that it wasn`t going to make it, I am really glad the spiked community didn`t let me down on this. If you guys enjoyed this, there are two other videos one posted by me and one by someone else. The two videos are "I Knew Pol Pot" and "The Killing Fields". They are more or less documentaries about the Khmer rouge in Cambodia. Something very similar to this but even worse. It took place in 1975 to 1979 where 2 million people were killed. If you enjoyed this clip I recommend you check those two out as well.

^ That`s a load of shit. There`s two big problems with America. The government and anti-government extremists. You might not be radical, but you spread bullshit like it actually holds truth. E.g. WHAT THE FUCK IS WITH AMERICAN CONSPIRACYS!? Honestly dude, that`s just fucking unrealistic.

As for the video, if you have never heard of this guy, you`re disgusting.

This man did more against aggressive opression than all of the hippies combined. Actually the hippies did nothing but piss everyone off despite wanting peace, but that`s beside the point.

There is some amazing post-Communism art (more accurately post-modern art internationally shown due to relaxed communism laws). A lot is inspired by this guy. You look at it and read the descriptions and it`s stuff you never imagined happened before because Chinese artists were never allowed to express it.

Look into it more if you liked this video. Then maybe the last thing running through your mind when you read "Made in China" will be, "Oh this is crap cheap shit."
