% that`ll do it. i`ve messed around with black smithing a little this past summer and put together a forge and gathered some tools to use. the best thing i`ve made was a knife for a friend`s birthday but it was nothing special. you didn`t answer what a ring in an anvil means! not to nit pick. good video and keep `em coming!

I`ll get right to the point, and i`ll try and be as straight forward as possible...

I want a sword (most likely a katana) that WILL be able to cut through (or just break) a stainless steel blade (most likely another katana). I just want a sword that i can use to break other swords that people buy off cheap website manufacturers.

What type of metals would be used to craft a blade like this, and what sort of technique would you use to create something like this. From your other video, you said a nice carbon blade will cleave a stainless one, but im sure it goes more depth than that. Thanks again for your videos!

and as far as wondering what he watches i`d be willing to say he`s maybe seen Berserk, cause he pronounced my name correctly, most pronounce it ZOEDH, rather than Zohd, then again could be a lucky guess.

great ending comment about zombies, gave me a laugh. I am currently majoring in psych and do hear of many people getting done or getting half way and saying "screw this" and doing completely unrelated things but first time i`ve heard of them going to become a smith.

Love your vids, learning a lot. My great grandfather was a blacksmith, and I appreciate ancient history, medieval and ancient mythology, etc. Right up my alley, appreciate your efforts.

Man, I absolutly love your video`s. I have a friend who is trying some newbie blackmsith stuff and showed him your movies and they were really interesting and helpful.

If i had time I would just love to make that "brake-drum" forge thing and just bang the whole day on metal.

Vizreel, The metal in a gun`s barrel is steel, and the type doesnt have much to do with trajectory. Since bullets are made of lead for the most part, barrels do not get worn down easily, however, if you use dirty ammo you can get the rifling in a barrel completely filled with gunk which will cause your accuracy to drop drastically. I have heard that the shape of a barrel can affect recoil a bit, but I am skeptical of this. I would imagine that more the mass of the barrel would affect recoil.

Its a long video but i didnt feel bored one bit :)
Very interesting m8, im a creative person and i like to be hands on with materials. Although it was only pottery, using glass kilns and that. Blacksmithing sounds like a helluva lot of fun. anyway, keep em coming!
And if ya dont like videos like this, then just go back, rather than being portrayed like an ass in here by the people who obviously do enjoy the vids.
