I knew a guy who`s parents went through the very last of the residential school era. Not good. Sadly too, it included a heavy component of one of the central themes of that good upright Christian culture : pedophilia. That in turn translated into a culture with grotesque levels of child abuse and incest, drug abuse and violence, on and on. Endless cycles of disfunction and broken families that will take generations to heal.

On the flip side, it would almost seem that our natives here in Canada had it good, compared to the poor shits in the middle east who`s homelands have now been laced with depleted uranium. That`s a halflife of 4.5 billion years. Safe for our army boys and contractors to tour a couple of times, but hell if you try to actually live there.

All this bullshit talk of freedom and justice and humanity seems pretty fucking hipocritical at times (most). We Westerners are mostly just modern savages with great grand delusions of anything good. The saddest thing is that it`s also obviously more a byproduct of our societal structures driving individual corruption, than some inherent evil bursting at all our personal seams. Most people are kind, but far too stupid and ill equiped to effectively do their share of forming a truly humane and compassionate and kind society. At least we have hot and cold running water, toilets, lights, phones, and cars. Sometimes seems like a hollow consolation.

Fuck.

I grew up with the children of the people who went through these residential schools. We all went to the same elementary school, played together, etc.. I grew up, and still live 5min. from their reserve. I know these people. But this video told me the real truth behind the pain I have always seen.

What this video says is 110% true. I didn`t know all of it, fuck, not 1/10 of it, but I know it. The girls from Port Albernie still make up a big part of the young / fresh / underage hookers in Vancouver. Drugs and death. I`ve seen it with my own eyes, and this video is close to home for me. Like Kevin, I can tell that this passes the BS detector, without so much as a wiggle of the needle.

This is a perfect example of why I hate the Christian religion, and our sham of a justice system. When Kevin further says that the corruption is actually still ongoing, I also believe it. We get hints, like the judge convicted for abusing native teenage girls from his own court proceedings. It runs high and wide, through our hallowed halls of power.

Face it.

Umm, Christianity doesn`t say kill people. Great example of stupid people sullying a belief that teaches forgiveness and kindness. As a canadian, i know that natives are disrespected alot, the government has no respect for them and neither do the people. Natives dont have to pay taxes, which is a grant by the government to say " sorry for murdering your people, taking your rights, and insulting your belifes"
