I think that when we decide to kill someone for their crimes, we should just officially declare them dead / free-to-kill, take away thier clothes, paint them bright orange, handcuff them, notify any interested victims / families, and let them loose in a place where they can face the people who care. Why should we protect them? We owe them nothing, and I`m sure that justice would be well served.

Otherwise, we should kill them publicly in the most gruesome ways possible, admitting that their life`s only remaining value is as a deterrent to other would-be criminals. How about 1/8" slices on a bandsaw, starting at the right arm. Or burnt to death with a lighter sized flame (takes a while). All live on HDTV. A message to any who would follow.

On a positive note, helium has the advantage for assisted suicide of leaving practically no forensic traces. So in all the backward countries where helping someone have a dignified death is called first degree murder, it is less risky than the morphine (or heroin), both of which obviously show as an OD right away, and lead straight to a murder investigation if the dead person was obviously unable to have got the drugs for themselves.

Its not like it fucking matters considering it takes decades after someone is sentenced to death to actually get executed. All the mean while they are busy killing eachother in prison and getting a hard free ticket through life with our money paying for every bit of it.

I think its kind of funny that prisoners are given the most humane ways of dieing while we are subject to anything from drowning to physical torture and everything in between.

People who believe in the Death penalty are uneducated. You are all two-sided.

Issac Asimov once said "Violence is the last refugee to the incompetent."

There is always a better way to deal with something than to kill somebody, a way can be found to deal with people. I urge you to think about this, violence is not an answer to violence, no wonder out kids are growing up to be screw balls, we teach them irrational things. "You can`t kill people, because its a really bad thing to do, UNLESS! * insert extremely long list of reasons why you can kill people here*"

People have to get their heads out of their asses and start thinking like a civilized group, if we cant figure out how to deal with a person without killing them, then we are not going to get very far, and we are not much better then any other generation that walked the earth.

honestly, how isn`t the issue, the issue is whether or not to do it at all... and if we all decide that it`s okay for the govt to determine that someone should be killed... then hanging or beheading is fine... public so that people know not to do what they did lest they be killed similarly.

exploder: Deterrent? To what? Normal standards for the death penalty are currently murder since people think that a life should be traded for anyother at most. One one today would say "Kidnappers should be killed" even though a person is scarred they are still alive so killing someone is simply too much. 9/10 murders are commited in total rage and the person murdering someone don`t tend to think much about "Is this worth life in prison?" since their brain is focused on killing a person and not get killed. As a deterrent it will be totally useless 9/10 times, so most of the times the people executed will be probably will be someone that was sorry one second after they realized that they had killed a person. Not really the person I think is someone that should be killed in the way you say.

This would be very much like the nitrogen narcosis that scuba divers experience when going to deep into the ocean.

I wonder if this will be the `drug` of the future? Recreational altitude chambers with `assistants` re-oxygentating you, saving your life before you `overdose` on altitude...?
