These people probably didn`t have spikes in their tires. In places like russia, canada or scandinavia the roads can get pretty nasty in the winters even when there`s no snow or rain. If you don`t get spikes during winter time you are really asking to crash...

Yep, they said it right. Car exhaust is mostly CO2 and H2O. And all that moisture condenses on every surface of the tunnel. Plus the tires were " cock " hard (lol )

Here in Minnesota (and other cold states + Canada) we get what is called "black ice" which occurs when the exhaust meets the road at sub-minus 0 temperatures over several days. Components in the exhaust (not sure which) freeze on contact, build up and are virtually undetectable. The road looks nice and dry but is coated with a thin, very slippery film of ice. That coupled with what was said above (hard tires, shitty driving) is my guess at the problem...
