It`s funny because it`s TORONTO! We know that it snows here, in Canada.

Toronto, from the perspective of everywhere else in Canada, is seen as a city that takes itself WAY too seriously...thus...the funny.

It`s also a pretty good piss-taking on the standard media techniques. TV news takes itself way too seriously when they produce shmarm like that for real, which they often do.

When I still lived in Israel, one of my best friends was a Canadian fellow. Israeli news would be filled with the usual: a bombing at a mall, another Palestinian child killed by the IDF, etc. Then my Canadian friend would hop online to look at the news from home, and see headlines like "Local Woman Becomes Disoriented. Loses Her Way on Bus!" as if it was a crisis. Too funny!

The line from the grief-stricken dad, needing to get his daughter to Montessori will have me chuckling for a long time.

Did you see that clip on bowling for columbine when Moore is talking to the Canadians in that pub and he mentions the news here, and the clip on the television in the backround is "Headline: Speedbumps!"

I do weather observation for a living in central BC. I thought it was funny to begin with. But the sheer gravity of the situation... My gods! 20 whole centimeters! (Our snow level here dropped to 47cm today.) LOL! Priceless!

I totally live in toronto my cat was plowed into a snow bank last week...this isn`t funny at all Mel Lastman called in the army like 10 years ago cuz he`s an idiot...PS Mitaka i don`t know what you mean by central BC but i seem to remember vancouver shutting down for like a week because they had one snow fall last year

I live in VA and it snowed here last thursday. Now Im used to driving in snow because I lived in and learned how to drive in Northern Japan where they get sometimes 7-10 feet of snow, but this was hilarious. Maybe 3-4 centimeters of snow had some schools shut down, and on the way to my college classes I saw like 3 accidents.
