wowee Nova is banned?! What was the "last straw" so to speak that drove you guys to finally ban him?

Purg as always very interesting, post more if you can! Im going on a camping trip very soon and was worried about the durability of my stainless steel knife, buying high carbon is more expensive but well worth it in the end I reckon.

Actually he would have been banned a long time ago but there was a bug with his account (The logout bug around november was related to any videos he posted in) but he calmed down for a while so I let it go but his recent resurge of spam+racist comments was too much so they dug around untill they found wtf was causing it and banned him.

Stick it to the hilt in dirt. Sounds stupid I know, but it works .

yeah ive done some metal work at college (shaping sheet metal, and rod) and it rusts really fast, as in sand blast it, rinse it in water and itll rust within a minute or two.

i know that one way to preserve it is rub it in oil but maybe mr black smith can tell us more

OK I have a vanadium steel set of kitchen knives. They seem to be stainless yet keep their edge age well as the Sabatier carbon steel knives. Ant thoughts?

Hearsay has informed me that a sword fight between high carbon steel and stainless steel, the high carbon blade would cleave the stainless.... I`ve always wanted this to be verified. Can you show us, set us straight?

I had a Throwing knife that was meant to be carbon. It was flat and rather slim and twice as much in price as the other thicker stainless steel throwing knives.

First time I threw it it stuck in a hard wooded tree around two inches deep.I was impressed, untill I pulled it out. It streched out like taffy almost 30% more in length.

Couldnt use it for anything after that, looked like some failed modern art.

What gives ? I`ve seen pliable metal before but nothing that stretches like this when its cold. Im guessing its because it was slim and had some cheap alloy in it.

Gimme` some more! That is so interesting to me!

I use a sandblaster if my high carbon gets surface rust. Use a low pressure though.
