Napoleon was 5`6, which, back then, was normal height, the reason the stereotype exists now is because they called him `le petit caporal` the little emperor, although the `little` was merely an affectionate term.
also his generals were all 6` + behemoths. which I guess don`t help.

I do the hand in the uniform thing all the time. If it weren`t considered unprofessional to put your hands in your pockets, we wouldn`t have to resort to resting just one hand.

didn`t he have hernia or something like that? that`s why his hand`s always in his tummy in every pose because back then... they don`t have camera, he has to stand there for hours for the painter to draw him; that hand ease the pain a bit I supposed.
