TRP

There have been plenty of vids here and elsewhere of white cops doing the same thing (to people of all colours etc).

It`s not about black or white, it`s about *power*, how in "the land of the free, home of the brave" the police have too much. It`s about how the ranks of the police are filled with folks (of all colours) who relish being petty dictators.

It`s about how there are far too many people (like "Aids_Sauce") who take every opportunity they can to (rightfully) indict the goose-stepping policies of the US government abroad, yet who cheer those same abuses domestically. Of course, it`s no coincidence that most of the people who drool when the see police abuse are the same ones who grunt and thrill at images of exploding Iraqis, or coyotes, or really anything being forcefully and explosively dismembered.

America seriously need to grow up - evolve even. It is as much a threat to itself and its own as it is to the rest of the world.

Klavlav, I agree to a point.. But I still contend that it`s ridiculous to judge an entire populace of 350 million people based on things we see on the internet.

Not saying that`s how you feel, but that`s how it`s coming off to me at least. I agree that there are a lot of people that feed the stereotypes, but with that many people in the country, there is bound to be a lot that do. But the other side of that coin means that there would be at least the same amount that don`t.

I hear you. And I know many fine police who I am happy to call friends. Let me add, though, that after working with / dealing with / being acquainted with police in a number of countries, there is a real difference between the culture of police in the US and many other places like Europe, for example.

In Holland, much of the time I see police don`t even get out of their car; if they see you doing something they don`t like, they`ll just roll down their window and admonish you! I`ve seen that many places. I`ve seen that in the US, too. But more often than not, every possible violation is used as an opportunity to detain people, examine their identification, search them and scrutinise. There is just a more hostile, even bullying, feel to the policing I`ve experienced in the US as opposed to many other places.

I`ll admit, I really hate bad cops. But it`s because I really like the good cops I`ve known. As I`ve said before, I believe police should be held to a higher standard. But I don`t think that standard is so high it`s too much to ask. It`s not too much at all to ask that, when you approach people, you approach them as human beings, even if they`re in the wrong. It`s not too much at all to say that, whenever possible, police will *only* use force when there is no other choice, and even then never with anger or aggression.

Zimbardo`s famous Stanford Prison Experiment showed us how easy it is for people who are given uniforms and authority to become thugs (and how easy it is for those without authority to accept their own mistreatment). News from Abu Ghraib to this clip from Baltimore remind us that it`s not just academic.

Klavlav,

Cheers, totally agree about hating bad cops because of knowing good ones. I`ve known officers my whole life, from beatwalkers to the Prime Ministers personal security detail. But I must admit that 95% of those are within Canada. And the ones that I know while living in the US are great, except for the bloody borderguards.. bastards. lol.

And I agree that anyone placed in a position to enforce laws and standards that have more *rights* than the average Joe should absolutely be held to a higher standard. And no, it`s definately NOT too much to ask imo.
Cheers for clearing that up, I wasn`t trying to say you were being a bigot, just that it was sounding a bit generalized. I know what you mean about a more hostile feeling though. The countries I`ve lived in I`ve (thankfully) for the most part steered clear of the wrong end of law enforcement, but running the businesses that I`ve run sometimes it`s been unavoidable. Maybe it was just stigma, but it did feel a bit more menacing sometimes dealing with cops down south than it did up in Canada, CERTAINLY at the border!

But one of the places that I`ve seen the worst of it was in Kings Cross in Sydney lol. Sometimes they were worse to deal with than the *bad guys* in the area haha.

What is there to actively investigate dipshit?

Are there some missing clues you intend to find at the crime scene by which you will deduce what happened and who was responsible?

the sheriff`s office did not know anything about it?? they guy at 0:57 (reresentative of the office) looks so much like the cop that laughed at the incident at 1:51

People are going to end up physiclly protecting themselves against abusive cops because they know nothing will happen to them.

Towards the end of the tape one of the legs of theguy in the wheel chair, starts to move. Do the legs still of a cripple still twich?

every cop should be required to wear a cam which sends a wireless stream via satellite to a remote server.

that way, maybe a pig will think twice before he/she pulls this crap.

cuz we all know, for every crime caught on video, there`s about another 20 which are committed with no evidence at all.

I like calling handicapped people crippys. I know one day Karma will slap me in the face and break my spine in several places doing so... but in all seriousness hearing it explain how it happened, like this guy, it`s like, "Damn... one day he was me, the next he was the last thing I want to be."

But the bonus is, he`s gonna get a lot of money for this. The payout`s worth it. I`d have cops mistreat me and break my ribs in the station any day.
