Hair metal was about partying & getting laid, not shallow introspection & the constant search for reasons to be depressed. Goth/punk (The Cure pretty much sums it up) was the precursor to emo.
Anyhoo, some trivia about this band: The singer had his career & his head crushed when a large piece of the lighting rig fell on him during a show. He`s the voice for Mark Wahlberg in the movie "Rockstar". The original "Steel Dragon" singer is voiced by Jeff Scott Soto, singer for Talisman, Yngwie, & others. The singer who takes Mark W.s place in Steel Dragon is Myles Kennedy, the guy who replaced Scott Stapp in Creed (to become Alter Bridge) Pointless info that I had to get out of my head.....

Steelheart is still around and coming up with a new album soon. they`ve got a new sound though, not too sure i like it. U can check it out at their website.
