45.52 carats surrounded by 16 white diamonds and suspended by a platinum chain bearing 46 more diamonds. The owner Hairy Winston gave it away as in 1958 because he believed it was cursed.

^^ big stolen diamonds are often cut into a few smaller diamonds, making them untraceable. The value would drop significantly but I could live with 50.000.000

Unlike Cash, like the Dollar, Gems and precious metals don`t go down in value. Only up. These kind of things signify wealth. Hence the fascination with them.

As for women, when people buy them expensive jewelry, it not only makes them seem more elegant, but its like someone handing you a huge wad of cash. They get to look nice, and have something to bank on later.
