This is something that will probably never happen, unless the government takes over the the market for pizza and thus have all your info or if one corporation takes over the whole country`s pizza, credit card and health industry at the same then and then goes to store all of their clients info and then shares it with all employees when it just is about pizza delivery.

If BB happens, it pretty much has to be a monopoly on the information market, so this kind of scenario is kinda hard to reach if you keep a free market going and have politicians who don`t let government let the control of law-making and national policy slip into the hands corporations...wait...

^The average person is not dumb, just ignorant. We are too lazy to protect ourselves from identity theft, internet fraud, and our desire to have it "right now". If we would take a more studied, patient approach to getting what we want we would not have to worry about this kind of thing ever happening. It will not happen unless we ALLOW it to.

No, it doesn`t work that way. Information you give to one organisation (say your health insurer, bank, etc etc) is a COMMODITY which can be sold for $$$. Companies do sell on information you give them right now, mainly for marketing purposes. There are companies who`s only buisness in acquiring and on-selling such information.

Moreover they pay people to go out and collect information about you. I worked (for a couple of days) as an information harvester, cold-calling companies to ask for empoyee details (name, role, phone, email, mailing address). We had to make up bullshit stories (ie. lie) to get the info. All the info went into a database. The info was used for marketing. My employer was a major publisher. I have no doubt the info was then on-sold. Around 80% of buisnesses I called did give out the info I was after. Perhaps I called YOUR office`s fromt desk and sweet-talked the receptionist into telling me all about YOU!

Unless there is appropriate regulation this shit will quickly get out of hand. So long as information is vauable market forces will ensure this. Hence the situation portrayed here is more plausible that any of us would like to believe.
