the council is segregated...strictly by color of the hair of the ape.

the black apes wanted to fight and kill and invade (with the exception of two)
the lighter colored monkey wanted nothing to do with the invasion.

The segregation in the Planet of the Apes movies was deliberate...to symbolize our own rise from a more primitive form of civilization.

By the way, this clip is from Battle for the Planet of the Apes (the fifth movie), not "Beneath." The forbidden zone was the city ruins of our human civilization (similar to that which was featured in `Beneath`). In the chronology of the movie series, `Battle for` takes place before `Beneath.`

Edit: I stand corrected...tis `Beneath.` How I missed Nova and whatshisname watching from the bushes is beyond me.
