I suppose that the Canadians in Washington at the time were just visiting and the White house and other government building burnt themselves to the ground. To be fair, President Madison said that God told him to invade Canada. Myths don`t reduce buildings to rubble.

Myths dont, Canadians dont, but the British army does....I dont see why Canucks dont see that. It was the British army, more specifically, a Scottish regiment that burned the Whitehouse.
