Mos Def is one of the best rappers in the world. The people who are talking shit about him are the ones that have no idea who he his, what he stands for, what his music sounds like etc. You cant group this man in with what your preconceptions of mainstream rap are. Mos Def, The Roots, Talib Kweli, Outkast, WuTang are on a completely different level than what you hear on the radio.

He, my friends, is one of the most articulate and educated black males in the media, especially when it comes to music and movies. He is next to Will Smith and Denzel Washington in my book. If you have not listened to his music and dont even usually like Hip hop i assure you his is a different medium. You may not agree with his views but you know what, I bet I dont agree with you on some shit too, but does that mean that I should be condemned? Its ignorant thinking like that that holds this world and especially the country of USA back from progression. Its thinking like that that may not allow us to have things like Gay marriage or legalization of marijuana. Its ignorant thinking that if you dont agree with me, you goto hell that makes religion look so bad. Its ignorant thinking like that that says if you`re black you`re lower than someone who is white. Its ignorant thinking like that that takes lives. You could say I`m blowing this out of proportion, but honestly it always starts out with small things like saying "he doesnt agree with me, so fuck him." that turns into bigger things like "These people are not aryan so we should kill them."
