5/5 One of the best movies, ever made, anywhere, ever. Every line is poetry. And the movie is more true now then it was then.

@klavlav
funny you should say that man, because you and I may have more in common than you think...regardless of idealogical, fantasy beliefs in which none other than I may differ.
Do you believe that the world is run by greed? Or love?
I remember when I was in elementary [yet I do not remember what year, how old I was, what I was wearing, or if it was even sunny that day], but as God is my witness, the teacher asked us that day "What makes the world go round?"...
As we all thought for a brief moment in silence, all I could think of was money, power, and more money. Afterwards, we all replied "Money...money makes the world go round". I remember my teacher`s face as if it was yesterday. This is one of the many reasons why I converted into my faith which is today known as Christianity.
Do you believe that the leaders of the world lie to us on a daily basis?
I do, and that`s all that`s need to be said about that. Why wouldn`t they? How could they not?
I am no fundamentalist, extremist, terrorist, or w.e the "fact nazis" may call me personally, but I do hold these truths to be SELF EVIDENT, just as the founding fathers of America knew of their own people in this godless, forsaken world. In the end, I cannot see why anyone would be offended by any of the things I say other than the very fact that they only hear, but don`t listen. Still, the truly wise recognize their own ignorance. In short, this is far from biblical prophecy or any for that matter.
P.S. a few quotes to peruse over, hopefully

Men occasionally stumble over the truth,
but most of them pick themselves up
and hurry off as if nothing had happened. Winston Churchill

I do not feel obliged to believe that same God who endowed us with sense, reason, and intellect had intended for us to forgo their use. Galileo

And finally, but certainly not least, in tribute to this clip:
I was at this time of living, like so many Atheists or Anti-theists, in a whirl of contradictions. I maintained that God did not exist. I was also very angry with God for not existing. I was equally angry with Him for creating a world. C.S. Lewis

^ I think you`re right; I`d bet we agree more than disagree. As I`ve mentioned before, I studied for the priesthood (and before that came close to being a Buddhist monk, then a rabbi - the result of growing up with a Catholic-Zionist mother and a Jewish-Buddhist dad...long story).

Now I just "worship" Nature, the Earth, Science - the process of investigating the mysteries of our universe - and, yes, love - nothing more natural than love.

Regarding why folks might disagree with what you have to say, I don`t know. Perhaps it has to do with the way you say things more than what you say. Maybe you *sound* like one of the fanatics, despite your best efforts.

Or maybe it is what you say. Perhaps after thousands of years of folks preaching "love thy neighbour" and "turn the other cheek" while simultaneously killing their neighbours unless they accept the "love of god", people aren`t very patient with religious folks and their hypocrisy.

I`m not saying you`re a hypocrite, but many (most?) of the folks that talk like you are. Perhaps you`re being (mis-)judged for their misdeeds.

I like the god of Love in the New Testament better than the "jealous", bloodthirsty one in the Old Testament, but in the end I believe that "god" is an invention of man, used primarily to control others through guilt, superstition, and fear of retribution. Even the "god of love" is used to control others through the fear of losing that love.

I admire Jesus, but after years of study preparing to follow his example, I determined that he, too, was an invention, and not even a particularly unique one, at that. The character of "Jesus" was merely the 1st century Jewish retelling of a character that has appeared in numerous cultures, before and since.

But if anything, that makes the message *more* true, but only if we are prepared to be *less* literal, and certainly less doctrinaire.

If "god" really is a synonym for "love", than all love is good love, and no love is better than another so long as that love is not disingenuously used to manipulate and hurt. I don`t think any faith needs to go much beyond that simple directive.

Or as Rabbi Hillel said, "`Do unto others as you would have them do unto you`...the rest is commentary". (Notice, no reference to "god", because ultimately god himself is just some useful commentary.)

You couldn`t be closer to the truth, for fear itself is the heart of love. Wouldn`t you be heartbroken if your wife died? Or suddenly left your presence? I have been before myself, but I think I`m not alone in that department lol. Alas, I said in another comment that our very thoughts are governed by our actions and thus, another thought. In philosophy, we argue that there is no free will for this simple matter, you know, the very reason we can`t go through walls, we can never travel faster than the speed of light [according to Einstein anyways].

"I think you`re right; I`d bet we agree more than disagree. As I`ve mentioned before, I studied for the priesthood (and before that came close to being a Buddhist monk, then a rabbi - the result of growing up with a Catholic-Zionist mother and a Jewish-Buddhist dad...long story)."
Growing up with such ideals must`ve been difficult; I know growing up myself with my mother being a strict Catholic-Christian. She left the Christian church after her fiance died [before she met my present father], perhaps in anguish and later became a Catholic.

"If "god" really is a synonym for "love", than all love is good love, and no love is better than another so long as that love is not disingenuously used to manipulate and hurt. I don`t think any faith needs to go much beyond that simple directive."
This is perhaps the biggest reason why I converted, because growing up I had many-a problem with such a concept called "love". And it was only on that day that a couple re-married in our church, and I remember the pastor saying "Brothers, let it be known that as eternal as love may be, we, as humans that can create technology from the very basics of science and ingenuity, are as frail as a leaf blowing in the wind. Even as we say in our vows in marriage "I love you, [insert spouse name here]", we don`t know the beginning of love. We are only just beginning to understand it!". You could say this was one of the more humble moments of my life so far. If "god" is a synonym of "love", then why is it that we cannot all so "love" as Men. I suppose this is because if we can`t even comprehend "love", then how can we ever begin to comprehend this "god"? Until the day comes that we conquer stars and even the cosmos themselves, as human beings, not some evolved, quasi-alien race, I can assure you that we may never live long enough to find out.

Corporations are massive and have no souls or feelings for independent vendors; without corporations there would be more equality and people would be friends.

Act now to end the corruption of moguls and corporate finance scandals and end the age of Capitalism`s evils; contrary to what your average corporation has led you to believe, money does not grow on trees.

End corporate bullshit!

What`s with all these great videos disproving the point of believing in a religion that i`ve seen today? You`d think that people would have came to their senses by now.

also heres a cool quote

"The positive existential proclamation bears the burden of proof. This is why a prosecutor must prove a crime was committed and then who committed the crime. The logical default for the positive premise that a crime has been committed is not "yes" or even "maybe" but "no". If I loudly proclaim that I have an invisible dragon in my garage, the logical default for that proposition, barring evidence, is "no".

I don`t care what people believe. I care when people pervert logic to support the mistaken idea that their belief is logical when it is not." --- anon

^ B BMarley: I`m not so sure.

Wars? Lots of evidence that the war in Iraq has been driven, at least in part, by business/corporate interests. Private contractors - like Blackwater and Haliburton - have been responsible for suffering and death.

Deaths? There`s Bhopal,India where Union Carbide was responsible for a tragedy that resulted in thousands of deaths.

Then there`s the good old East India Trading Company, a corporate entity that paved the way for brutal colonisation.

And on a related note, the slave trade from Africa was all about business. This wasn`t Old Testament-style, enslaving the survivors of one`s conquered enemies. No, it was pure business. It was business that was rationalised and justified using, among other things, the Bible. But ultimately it was all about money.

Corporations *may* not be quite as bad as (some) governments/ideologies, but they are far from good. When corrupt governments and unregulated corporations merge, you have some of the worst of all possible combinations.

And when businesses become ideologies, you get neo-conservatives and Scientologists. Scary.

^exactly as klavav said. powers become superpowers through the greed and wanting of more, in the gluttony of SELF. alas, as this has been going on throughout the time of man, it is up to us, regardless of beliefs, race, and color that we educate ourselves and our children...as this makes all the difference.

P.S. I liked our little chat klavav. here`s hoping to some more with the GANG-BANG ;]
