I know for a fact that its incredibly tight where the driver sits and they do need help getting in and out of those cars. But for the thing to go ablaze whilst hes in it.....cooked alive.

nah man, when that happens, you burn for a while, but they have flame retardant suits, and the guys are helping him out so fast that he doesnt have time to get serious burns. add that to the fact that when you are burning like that, you are at the base of the flame, and therefore where there is less heat.

Sometimes the fire burns clear, which adds another danger to fuel stops. Because you can not see the flame.

^ the magic invisible flame is liquid hydrogen. it`s actually pale blue but fire fighters sometimes need special equipment to see it because it`s near invisible. oh and methanol too. but i haven`t seen an actual demonstration. but people keep saying its invisible.

^^..What he means is some of the races use alcohol fuel which burns clear.
There was a famous fire at Indy that was very spookey because of the way people where burning and turning brouwn and you couldn`t see any flame from the methanol fire.
