Blue Planet, "Exploring the Deep Ocean F...

The ocean floor is home to many unique communities of plants and animals. Most of these marine ecosystems are near the water surface, such as the Great Barrier Reef, a 2,000-km-long coral formation off the northeastern coast of Australia. Coral reefs, like nearly all complex living communities, depend on solar energy for growth (photosynthesis). The sun`s energy, however, penetrates at most only about 300 m below the surface of the water. The relatively shallow penetration of solar energy and the sinking of cold, subpolar water combine to make most of the deep ocean floor a frigid environment with few life forms.

We technically have seen less than half of our planet. The rest so hard to see because of water. This made me want to play spore.

People will complain when there are too many of one type of clip on this site. I think Planet Earth and Blue planet are exceptions. Post all you can :D

haha making love as a sea urchin is tough

i know this is about the deep ocean
but it really sadden me to know that thousands of species that have yet to been discovered are lost at an alarming rate due to deforestation of rain forests
they have even discovered plants which can be used to treat certain types of illnesses
think of all the cures we`ve lost so far
fortunately, we haven`t thought of a way to mess up the mysterious deep ocean...yet

LastCaucasian....
If you watch them back to back or run them together through a movie maker, you could have most of the full episode.

These blow my mind ...one of the few things left unspoiled by man.

The Ocean is so amazing, these videos are really awesome, please, give us more. I can`t believe we know so little about the sea, kinda makes me want to become a researcher or something.
