Thats classic faux right there.

^^ I think the issue was, that there was actualy no nudity scene in the game. They did show that back picture, but heck, its not any worse then the stuff you see in womens magazines.

FOX knows that...

FOX likes to protect our society from the percieved dangers of video games and the internet, but when our society needs an outlet to protect us they either hide, became an outlet for the true danger or they raise their flag the highest.

Everytime discussions about video games come up on the news, I am just blown away by the level of ignorance these "journalists" have regarding video games.

They just cannot seem to understand that the largest demographic for video games now is men over 18, and if we want to play a video game with nudity, who cares? What is so bad about nudity? How is it worse then violence? What is the big deal about a butt? EVERYONE HAS A BUTT!

They also talk about the `M-Rating` and the parental controls on the 360, they say that a parent has to get too involved to use this. What the hell is this? Parents are supposed to get involved, the video game industry and Microsoft have been extremely responsible in what they do to allow parents to limit was kids can see, they did 90% of the work, it`s just up to the parents to do the last little bit.

Also, shouldn`t they be praising the designers of Mass Effect since the characters cannot even have sex in the game unless they develop a relationship with the other person? If anything they are promoting a life without promiscuous sex!

And one last thing that pisses me off about this, why does there always have to be one person that brings up that they perfer/know the old games.

The "research" they cite is fluff and nonsesne, the result of cherry-picking and selective skewing. More often than not, the "researchers" had pre-conceived notions from the very beginning, then unsurprisingly "discovered" results that confirmed those beliefs.

America is overflowing with this kind of garbage. It is churned out by the truck-load, produced en masse, promoted on Faux news, and spills out of big-box bookstores that market Oprah and Dr. Phill. It`s all part of the Anglo-American project of new Victorianism and contemporary Puritanism, demonising sex and "violence" and play.

The *real* research, the stuff you never see on Faux, is mostly inconclusive, and often blatantly contradicts these shrill moral authoritarians.

Diamond & Uchiyama, in a massive cross-cultural survey of the effects of porn on youth and violence, found that most societies where porn was easily obtainable by youth had *lower* levels of sexual violence. Of course, this is nothing new, the Reagan administration`s Meese Commission found the same thing decades ago, despite its best efforts to demonise porn.

The same for video games. The simple fact is that most kids do perfectly fine telling the difference between play violence and real violence, most of the time.

This *whole* debate is one big puppet show designed to distract sheeple from the *real* harmful influence brain-washing people who can`t tell the difference between reality and make believe; namely the hordes of bible-thumping evangelicals and conservatives out there "saving" America and the world for "freedom, "democracy" their comic book saviour, "Jesus tm".

Now, that bloody bible is the thing that should be kept well away from impressionable children, and adults.

Kids under 18 aren`t allowed to buy mature games and most 13 y/o kids don`t have 50 bucks to drop on a video game...so what was the issue again?

Oh and she`s talking about playing dads video game when he`s gone then thats the same as his dad leaving a few porn dvds out for him to look at(just think of the x button as play and control stick as fast forward) so i`m not really understanding most of the negative points.

and what was with the dude in glasses... that was some of the stupidest on air commentary I`ve heard outside of Bill-O.

I was watching Casino on television the other night, and the censored swearing, one brief shot of nudity, but had no problem leaving in people being stabbed to death with a pen, etc.

Is a boob shot really going to mess a kid up? I doubt it.
I seem to have turned out allright.
