FOX Attacks! "Non-Existent" Veterans

To Bill O'Reilly: Homeless veterans exist. I met some. BOR was either ignorant to or consciously ignoring a recent study from the National Alliance to End Homelessness (using data from the Department of Veterans Affairs and the Census Bureau) that found "In 2006, approximately 195,827 veterans were homeless on a given night — an increase of 0.8 percent from 194,254 in 2005. More veterans experience homelessness over the course of the year. We estimate that 336,627 were homeless in 2006." ^ copied from Youtube lol

Cause it`s easier to link to Youtube than downloading media from sources I don`t have and then uploading them here. Which assuming I even did have the file, it would take literally hundreds of times longer.

^ because they`re at shelters, which do sometimes offer services like washrooms and second hand clothes, i`m assuming that some were ex-homeless veterans too. it`s not all black and white i`ve worked at and have volunteered at shelters, and there are stereotypes and then there are the guys who look like they wouldn`t be there in a million years, but they`re there.

If there is any justice in this world at all, Bill O`Reilley should end up homeless.

BoondockJosh: These interviews seem to have been done at shelters that provide for homeless folks, hence some fresh clothes, showers etc. so they can get cleaned up.

Too, some homeless shelters provide cell phones, internet access, PO boxes and other services so that homeless folks can find work, get phone calls for prospective job interviews, and so on.

Finally, it is one of the biggest myths in America that all homeless people are completely destitute bums; many are what is referred to as "working homeless". These are folks, often families, who jump from short-term job to short-term job, barely making enough to get by, subsisting in shelters or living in their cars etc. They keep clean and may even be able to afford things like phones that are a vital tool for getting and keeping work.

All of this is *old news*. The fact that O`Reilley has missed this just shows that he`s been living under a rock...which is pretty much where he belongs.

Instead of that windbag having his own show where he spouts his idiocy, they should kick him back under that rock and give the air time to homeless vets to tell the truth and actually educate the American public a little.

wow man, after seeing this, how can anyone like o`rielly anymore? just because he hasn`t met any homeless vets does not mean there are none to be found. he probably didn`t even look. to state his views in such a condesending way just makes me hate the man even more. there are thousands of homeless vets. if you ever visit a VA hospital, you will find plenty of veterans who live on the streets and frequent the VA because of related health problems.

i`m not even sure what o`rielly is trying to do. a very common story that almost everyone has heard is a vietnam vet with post traumatic stress cannot return to regular life, loses his job, his house, maybe his family, and has to live in shelters. either he is really ignorant of such things, he knows about homeless vets and is lying out his teeth, or he doesn`t consider homeless vets as true veterans. i don`t know which possibility i like better.

how recent is this vid anyway? the broadcast has a stat of the michigan primary, which happened like just this past week

but not because of the downfall of the economy (the argument was whether the economy was to blame)
now for the poster and who ever made the video must not have watched and followed the whole argument

Bill OReily should die in a house fire and I hope its a nice house too.

The mental illness and drug addiction are attributed to the fact that they are not properly assisted when re-integrating with society.

Voulnteer or conscrpted doesnt fucking matter. If a government is willing to send troops off to fight. Look after em when they return, whole or injured. The way Vets get treated in the states is a Joke. Why anyone would fight for the land of the free when they forget so easily afterwards is beyond me.
