There will be more coming. These are the "backyard" tapes. I have filmed two tv shows, just local stuff, but I wanted a bigger medium to work with.
I`m from south georgia, thats where the twang comes from. Chinups comment about clockwork and steam gave me pause. Clockwork and the industrial revolution was due directly to this craft. Man has been hammering steel for about 2000 years as far as we can tell. If there is any material that we can point to as the thing that let man become the dominant species on earth, its iron and steel. Anyhows, more goodies on the way, basic tools, and a quick chat on armor.

Nice video buddy. What I would really like to see is a demo of the kinds of stuff you make. This how to stuff is cool, but I don`t really know the kinds of stuff you can even make with this kind of simple forge.

P.s. Since you`re somewhat of an expert on fire and steel, maybe you can tell all the uninformed masses that jet fuel(made from kerosene) doesn`t melt tempered steel.

Should point out in the video to check if u can go to forest to get timber otherwise u can get fined, building sites will be the best place to get timber quick and free.

Steel often melts at around 1370 degrees C (2500°F).

A candle flame is about 1400°C

Steel begins to fail at 700 degrees F. This is of course if there is no other source on the other side of the steel to transfer the heat aka water/air.
