sorry to starwars nerd all over your parade but a lightsabres colour is dependant on the colour of the crystal the jedi uses to construct it, not some weird ass switch on the bottom of it,(that switch is supposed to calibrates the length and density of the blade). Initially blue and green were used by the jedi because those crystals were most common and thus easiest for them to obtain. The red crystals are synthetic and created by the sith, although i remember in KOTOR seeing naterally forming ones, so maybe thats just a clusterfuck on starwars`s part.
