of course it`s funny in a juvinile kind of way but some of those companies are not huge and they spend an awful lot of money for a presence in that show and for a respected tech blog to vandalise their presentation and humiliate them like that is a bit shocking. I wouldn`t have sympathy Gizmodo if they were sued.
Just because you can do that with a universal remote doesnt mean you `should`. How would Gizmodo like it if some wag hacked their site and shut it down?

Eh, most of those I didn`t feel any sympathy for seeing them turned off. "You are about to see broadband history in the making"? Riiiiight.

Though, personally, I`d still much have preferred to see this done in places people want the TVs to be off in. A doctor`s office, say, where the only person watching the TV is the receptionist, or worse still, one of those doctor`s offices that has a TV set to run pharmaceutical ads and "health alerts" only. Or an office that is running children`s shows...even with no children around.

You guys are all over-reacting. Its a FUCKING TV! Get over it. So what... do you know how hard it is to turn a TV back ON? It takes no time at all. This is the funniest thing ive seen in a long time and you can all vote me down... but you all need a sense of humor.

Hard to call, if they just did it once or twice, it is pretty harmless, but I don`t blame the CES for banning them. Funny how no one checks if the TV is on as a first diagnostic, instead they start looking around the back.
