@DarkSora, how do you know which group conceived of the concept first ? Even if cloverfield did do it first, by that same "knock off" logic, you could say that cloverfield is a total knock off of a film like blair witch project

DarkSora17, I am pretty sure this movie was thought of before Cloverfield.. This one has been around since like mid 2006 at least, and I think Cloverfield has only been around since sometime in 07 or so..

In any case....Blaire Witch was in 1999 so I guess they are both just ripping it off eh? My point being, only douchebags say things like "but also a TOTAL knock off of cloverfield.." ergo....you are a douchebag.. :)

This movie looks alright, i`ve always been a fan of zombie movies. But, I keep finding myself comparing zombie films to 28 days later, my fav. In that movie zombies are chasing you down, running as fast as they can to try and eat you. In movies like this (from what I see) the zombies slowly come at you, taking there sweet ass time. 4/5

I love the Romero series of living dead movies, but I have to admit that I wasn`t very impressed with his last one "Land of the Dead". Hope this one is better.

Yeah, Land of the Dead was a horrible joke Iron Mith. I hope Romero does better on this one also. I feel like I`m damaged goods after seeing AVP R, (2), worst movie of the year or whatever the hell u wanna call it, just recently. I`m definitely going to be a little more gun-shy about running out to the theater just based on trailers regardless of which movie it is.

Most movies these days take ideas from some film or another. That`s why it doesn`t really matter whether this film is a knockoff of Blair Witch, Cloverfield, etc. Besides, Blair Witch is a knockoff of Cannibal Holocaust.

I like how they reverted back to the real zombies... not the stupid sprinty ones of recent times. I find the slow ones much much scarier than the new ones.

i would have preferred there be a sequel to the living dead movies, not a prequel. from that point of view you know how the movie will end, and you know already what is to come. i don`t like the shaky cam concept used here either. if romero wants to show me some young adults coping with the situation and filming it then just do a regular movie and have a guy with a camera in his hand, pan occasionally to what the guy gets on film and I would be happier with that knowing i`m watching a prequel. a contiuation of his vision would have been preferred. at least that way we would get something new. all we get now is a movie that has been done to death, it`s safe and not much is new.

Take a look at the list of cameo`s for this movie, its amazing.

Also on a side note if anyone has half life 2 and likes zombie movies/games check out zombie panic and zombie master mods for it. Both of those are incredibly fun.
