Thom Yorke is an Alien sent to planet Earth to create music to brainwash the masses in believing there is no such thing as dinosaurs.

Smokey-69er: Yeah, I paid for it, and yeah, I`m proud of that. Call it stupid if you want, after all, you are entitled to your opinion. I doubt you could rationalize it, but you`re still entitled to it. I, for one, think that Radiohead have consistently proven to be one of the most important and influential modern bands, and that they are undeniably talented musicians. Sure, they`ve got plenty of money, and probably don`t need a few extra bucks from me, but that doesn`t change the fact that they deserve it. I figure the more support they get, the more likely they are to keep putting out great music. Granted, In Rainbows is far from their best work, but the fact remains that it is their work, and they deserve to get paid for it.

That said, this video was good for a giggle, but it`s really not that funny. If it was anyone other than Thom Yorke it wouldn`t be funny at all.

^ Its all personal preference Sh4x,

Personally I hated Kid A and Amnesiac, but I know people that think they were the best Radiohead albums.

For me, they never topped The Bends.

Sh4x: I`m glad you liked it, I wish I was as enthusiastic about it as you are. Don`t get me wrong, I thought it was a great album, it was one of my favorites of 2007, especially songs like Nude and Videotape. I just thought it was a bit weak at times (i.e. House of Cards, Bodysnatchers) and not as solid as some of their previous albums. So, compared to any other band, it`s terrific, I just prefer some of their older, more electronic stuff.

But hey, at least they`re always doing something new. It`s refreshing to see a band not stick to one formula that`s worked for them in the past, but actually branch out and try something new with every album. I think there`s a devoted following for each of their albums (well, maybe not Pablo Honey) which is part of the reason I call them one of the most important modern bands.

@gwfairstrikes i never said radiohead are crap, i do agree they are one of the most influencial bands in the world BUT why pay for an album they said we could have for free? i wont be made to think i should pay them for creating music its there job and they are paid in numerous ways for it not just album sales besides after Manic Hedgehog, Pablo Honey, OK Computer, Kid A and Hail to the Thief which i bought all when they were released ive spent 50-80 quid so its about time we get something for free from the people WE made rich and famous...

Smokey-69er: Haha, if you got Manic Hedgehog when it came out, that says a lot. Appy polly logies, I assumed based on your first post that you were coming from a totally different angle. Now that you`ve clarified, I can see where you`re coming from, and you raise an interesting point. In the end, though, I think Thom did it just right for both sides. For someone who shares your point of view, you`re basically getting a gift from a fantastic band. Personally, though, I had some cash to spare, and I enjoyed an album more after actually investing something in it.

LeighCedar: I actually prefer the Kid A-Hail to the Thief era. I think it`s more innovative, more of a unique sound. Still, The Bends was a standout album for its period, and I appreciate it for what it is. Mostly, I just like to see a band whose body of work is so diverse and inspires such devoted fans for each of their albums.
